Junior Mike Coluzzi scored the equalizer off a corner kick with just over a minute remaining in regulation and goalkeeper Matt Carr stole the show during the shootout as the Hermits (18-2-1) overcame a two-goal halftime deficit to beat a short-handed Lancers (12-7-4) side on penalty kicks.

St. Augustine capitalized in the 58th, when junior John Lamanteer headed in a free kick to cut the SJV lead to 2-1.
After Coluzzi tied the game, St. John Vianney’s defense pushed the game to a shootout, but could not overcome Carr. The St. Augustine goalie saved three shots during the shootout and buried the deciding attempt to officially send the Hermits to the semifinals Monday at No. 2 CBA.
The loss marks the second straight season in which St. John Vianney was eliminated in a game decided by a penalty shootout.
