Point Beach 33, Pinelands 23

Senior Parker Stizza and freshman Ella Malloy each scored 10 points to lead the Garnet Gulls (1-2) past the Wildcats (0-3). New head coach Jill Tierney came away with her first victory with her cousin John Tierney coaching the opposing team.

Sophomore Ava Plant scored 9 points and pulled down a game-high 17 rebounds in the loss. Sophomore Rory Krier came away with a game-high 8 steals.

Barnegat 32, New Egypt 25

Senior Madysen Plescho scored 11 points and came away with a game-high five steals to lead the Bengals (3-2) past the Warriors (1-3) in a tightly contested defensive game. Barnegat trailed 23-22 heading into the fourth quarter before outscoring New Egypt 10-2 the rest of the way. Junior Jayla Duff added 10 points and three steals. Freshman Carly Manna chipped in five points and grabbed 11 rebounds.

Holmdel 59, Freehold Township 52

Junior guard Emma Lynn scored a team-high 17 points as the Hornets (1-2) earned their first win of the season over the Patriots (0-4). Sophomore Casey Zammit had a strong all-around game with 15 points, nine rebounds, four assists, and three steals. Sophomore forward Claire Gillespie added 10 points, nine rebounds, and three assists. Sophomore Quinn Smigelsky chipped in eight points, five rebounds, and three assists.

Senior guard Madison Sciarrino scored a game-high 21 points in the loss. Sophomore Shiloh Harris added 14 points.

Howell 44, Point Boro 28

Junior forward Kylee Beam poured in a game-high 21 points as the Rebels (3-0) topped the Panthers (2-2). Senior BellaRose Marino added seven points. Senior Payton Smith chipped in six points.

Sophomore guard Taylor Lappke scored a team-high 11 points in the loss.
