Senior midfielder Matt Avivi put together a memorable game with four goals, including the game-tying and game-winning goals, while also becoming the program’s all-time leading goal-scorer as the Braves (8-8) won a thriller over the Lions (8-6) to advance to the SCT round of 16.
Avivi now has 92 career goals, passing the previous mark of 91 set by 2024 graduate Marc Stefanelli.
Manalapan will face fifth-seeded Toms River East on Tuesday.

Junior Luke Gaffney sank four goals and added an assist, and junior Jackson O’Keefe recorded a hat trick plus two assists as the Eagles (9-7) advanced to the SCT round of 16 with a win over the Panthers (7-8).
Sophomore midfielder Ryan Colacichi posted two goals and three assists and senior Joe Sarci scored twice. Sophomore Ryan McCarthy added a goal and an assist, while senior Leo Abate scored once. Senior goalie Matt Mason finished with five saves.
Middletown South will face No. 6 seed Wall on Tuesday.

Senior attackman Brenden Carfagno scored 6 goals and senior midfielder Ryan Rowohlt scored 3 goals as the Patriots (7-8) blanked the Lions (1-11) to advance in the Coaches Cup. Junior goalie Josh Lubin saved 4 shots. Senior midfielder Ryan Rutt scored a goal and tallied 2 assists while freshman midfielder Benjamin Brauswetter scored a goal and tallied 1 assist. Senior midfielder Patrick Wicke also added a goal. Six other Patriots tallied an assist, including senior Nate Reiser, junior Andrew Dalton, junior Noah Cobb, junior Jace Scalfani, sophomore Lucas Torres, and freshman Scott Monge.

Sophomore Shea O’Donnell scored 4 goals and senior Collin Markoski won 14 of 15 faceoffs to dominate possession as the Rams (10-4) completely shut down the Pirates (10-3). Senior Joe Kessler netted a hat trick and distributed 3 assists while senior Liam Griffin netted a hat trick and distributed 1 assist. Kessler reached the 100th goal milestone on his final point of the day. Sophomore Kyle Sininsky added a hat trick and 2 assists. Freshman attackman Niko Iliescu scored a career-high 2 goals and tallied a career-high 4 assists. Senior Billy Barry and senior midfielder Liam Bates both scored a goal and tallied an assist. Four other Rams scored a goal including senior Rob Potter, Kody Wagner, and Evan Wyrsch as well as sophomore Jack Ramsey. Wagner’s goal was the first of his career. Sophomore Cash McVey assisted on 4 shots, Markoski assisted on 2 shots, and sophomore midfielder Chris Hughes assisted on 2 shots.

The Rebels (11-2) fell to the Rams (2-10). Senior Vincent Meehan and junior Cole Reinsdorf both recorded hat tricks. Junior Mason Morgan scored a goal while junior Travis Kimball tallied an assist.
No. 3 Shore 17, Holy Spirit 4
Senior Tucker Malfa scored 4 goals and distributed an assist as the Blue Devils (10-3) steamrolled the Spartans. Junior Reid Spallone scored 3 goals and tallied 2 assists while sophomore Brady McHugh scored 3 goals and tallied 1 assist. Seniors Braden Miller and Lukas Villa both scored 2 goals and distributed 3 assists. Junior John Mazzacco scored a goal and tallied an assist. Freshman Ryan Cregle and senior Brendan O’Brien both scored a goal. Junior Jack Madalone tallied 2 assists. O’Brien ensured that Shore would dominate possession as he was victorious on 22 of 23 faceoffs. Sophomore goalie Joey Longo saved 10 shots while freshman Anthony Pernice saved 4 shots in the victory for the Blue Devils.
