Colonial Division

Howell 9, Middletown South 6

Senior attackman Jayden Devino scored four goals and senior defenseman Colin Finnegan, Colin Spires, and Tristan DeLucia led a superb defensive effort in front of senior goalie Adam Baker to lead the Rebels (6-1, 3-1) past the Eagles (4-3, 3-1) for a key division victory.

Junior attackman Mike Kelly scored twice in his return after missing the last three games with an injury and Baker made eight saves against a potent Middletown South offense. Finnegan, senior midfielder Nick Turturro, and junior midfielder Cole Reinsdorf each scored once, while senior middie Vin Meehan and junior attackman Mason Morgan had two assists each.

Howell led 5-4 at halftime. Middletown South tied the score at five on a goal by senior Joe Sarci at 9:29 of the third quarter, but Howell responded on goals by Devino and Kelly to take a 7-5 lead into the fourth quarter. After sophomore Ryan Colacichi scored his third of the game to cut the Eagles’ deficit to 7-6 early in the fourth quarter, Devino netted his fourth of the game and Turturro added his first with 3:10 to play.
