Week 5 OIB Ortho Team of the Week: Jackson Girls Basketball
Shore Sports Insider is proud to partner with OIB Ortho this winter to present our weekly OIB Ortho Girls Basketball Team of the Week Award, recognizing standout Shore Conference programs for their accomplishments on the court.

The Week 5 recipient of the 2026 OIB Ortho Girls Team of the Week is Jackson following a week in which the Jaguars went 3-0 with road wins over Barnegat and Manchester as well as a home victory over Toms River East that clinched the Class A South title.
Freshman Anjali Birudaraju scored a career-high 16 points in Jackson’s 58-31 victory over Barnegat. Senior Kaylee Ambos added 14 points and four steals. Senior Isabella Finer added 10 points, five rebounds, four assists, four steals, and four blocks.
Finer recorded a 23-point and 11-rebound double-double as Jackson rolled over Toms River East 62-34 to clinch the Class A South title, avenging a loss from earlier in the season. Senior Julianna Old registered a double-double of her own with 13 rebounds and 14 points.
The Jaguars closed the week out with a 45-35 win over Manchester. Finer narrowly missed a double-double with 23 points and nine rebounds. Ambos added 12 points and four rebounds.
“Our motto for years is locked in level up,” Coach Rachel Goodale said. “We knew we had to win three games to win a conference championship and make a mark here at this new school. The Jags were “February fresh” and locked and leveled up.”
The Class A South title was all the more memorable since it is the first official year of the newly christened Jackson Township High School since merging Jackson Memorial and Jackson Liberty.
On Monday, Shore Sports Insider visited practice to present Jackson head coach Rachel Goodale and the team with a commemorative game ball and a $250 Joe Leone’s Italian Specialties Gift Card, courtesy of our partners at Joe Leone’s, for a well-earned team meal.
