Manalapan 4, No. 3 Ranney 3 (9 Innings)
Andrew Ghibesi hit a game-winning RBI single with one out in the bottom of the ninth inning and Manalapan finished off a come-from-behind win over the Panthers.
Ranney broke a scoreless tie with two runs in the top of the sixth inning thanks to the red-hot Ricky Lopez, who was 6-for-6 with four home runs and eight RBI in his previous two games prior to Wednesday. Nico Owimirn led off the inning with a single and advanced to second on a sacrifice by Brody Mauro before Lopez brought him home with an RBI double for a 1-0 Ranney lead. One batter later, Andrew Parisi made it 2-0 with an RBI single to chase home Lopez.
Manalapan battled back in the bottom of the seventh, when three consecutive batters reached with one out to load the bases — a single by Dennis Healy book-ended by walks by Ghibesi and Kevin Rusinak. Noah Hynes struck out the next batter for the second out, but hit Matt Sisco to force in a run and cut the Ranney lead to 2-1.
Mauro came on to pitch and walked Brandon Heller to plate the tying run, but recovered by inducing an inning-ending pop-out that pushed the game to extra innings.
Ranney stranded a pair in the top of the eighth and Manalapan left the bases loaded in the bottom to send the game to the ninth. Ranney broke through for a 3-2 lead on a two-out RBI double by catcher Brody Garguilo to score starting pitcher Nate Fuller.
In the bottom of the ninth, Manalapan tied the game without putting the ball in play and without making an out. A hit-by-pitch and three straight walks forced home the tying run and after Ranney cut down the winning run at the plate on a fielder’s choice for the first out, Ghibesi shot a ground ball through the middle of a drawn-in infield to plate the winning run.

No. 1 CBA 10, Marlboro 3
Senior outfielder Will Fahey (hamstring) returned to the lineup after a two-week absence to go 2-for-2 and Shane Langan’s dominant two innings of middle relief highlighted a 14-strikeout performance by CBA’s pitching as the Colts downed the Mustangs to clinch a share of the Class A North division championship.
After Pardini struck out seven in four innings of work to start the game and earn his first win, Langan faced the minimum six batters during the fifth and sixth innings and struck out every one of them.

St. John Vianney 3, No. 10 Raritan 2
Nick Mirto tied the game with an RBI single in the top of the fourth and Wyatt Lewis delivered the go-ahead RBI single in the top of the fifth before Thomas Dunn fired three scoreless innings of relief to close out a win for the Lancers over the Rockets — the first loss of the season for Rockets starter Alan Warren after he won his first five decisions.
J.J. McGonigle set up and scored the go-ahead run by hitting a one-out double and scoring on Lewis’s hit and also drove in the first SJV run with an RBI ground out in the top of the first.
Raritan took the lead on a two-run single by Antonio Lamberti with two out in the bottom of the second, but Vianney starter and winning pitcher Tyler McDougall bounced back to pitch scoreless innings in the third and fourth before turning the game over to Dunn.

Justin Valles bunted home a run in the top of the sixth and Brick answered with a sacrifice fly by Sean Savannah, cutting Toms River North’s lead to 6-5 heading to the seventh.
Ian St. Luce plated a seventh run for Toms River North with a sacrifice fly and Dominic Ostroman drove in what proved to be the winning run on a two-out RBI single that put the Mariners ahead, 8-5.
Brick started the bottom of the seventh with a walk by Matt Goodfellow and a single by Brannon McBride, followed by a line out by Brayden Heatter for the first out. Chris Quick then slammed an RBI double to cut Brick’s deficit to 8-6 and put the tying runs in scoring position with one out. James Donoghue pushed another run across with a ground out to St. Luce at shortstop, scoring McBride and advancing Quick to third as the potential tying run. Chase McTaggart then induced a pop-up to end the game.

Barnegat 10, No. 5 Point Beach 9 (10 Innings)
Declan Brain capped a wild, back-and-forth finish with a game-winning RBI single with two out in the 10th inning and the Bengals walked off with a win over the Garnet Gulls.
Point Beach committed errors on consecutive at-bats with one out in the bottom of the 10th and Patrick Mackie drew a walk to load the bases with one out. Carson Pfeifer coaxed a fielder’s choice ground out to shortstop Antonio Acevedo, who threw home for the second out. Brain then stepped in a swatted an RBI single into centerfield, scoring Dylan Appice with the winning run.
Barnegat led the game throughout the first six innings and was one out from defeating Point Beach in the seventh. Tommy Conroy drew a one-out walk and stole second base, but Nick Malinowski fired a strikeout for the second out of the inning with his team ahead, 8-5. Noah Banick then worked a six-pitch walk to extend the game and bring the tying run to the plate and Barnegat aided Point Beach by committing an error on Brody Powers’s ground ball that scored Conroy and put runners on first and second with two out.
Dan Storch then fell behind in the count, 1-2, but got a pitch to hit and scorched it for a game-tying, two-run triple. Barnegat then loaded the bases with one out in the bottom of the seventh on a leadoff walk, a one-out error and an intentional walk. Bennett Moberg notched a huge strikeout for the second out and ended the inning by inducing a pop out.
Point Beach took its first lead of the game on a two-out error in the top of the ninth inning, but gave that run back on another two-out error in the bottom of the ninth.
