OIB Ortho Week 6 Shore Conference Football Team of the Week: Pinelands
Week 6 Shore Sports Insider OIB Ortho Team of the Week
Shore Sports Insider is proud to partner with OIB Ortho this fall to present our weekly OIB Ortho Football Team of the Week Award, recognizing one Shore Conference program for its accomplishments on the field. We are also thrilled to welcome Joe Leone’s Italian Specialties as a co-sponsor, providing a very generous $500 Pasta Party Gift Card each week to celebrate the winning team.
The Week 6 recipient of the 2025 OIB Ortho Football Team of the Week is Pinelands following the Wildcats’ hard-fought 21-14 victory over Barnegat giving the wildcats their 5th straight win.
On Tuesday, SSI visited practice to present head coach John Tierney and the team with a commemorative game ball and the $500 Joe Leone’s gift card for a well-earned pasta party.
Pinelands Stays Hot Behind Kobilnyk and Kilisi in Statement Win
The Pinelands Wildcats are proving they’re one of the Shore’s up and coming teams to watch this fall. Behind a balanced attack and another standout defensive effort, the Wildcats took down Barnegat to improve to 5-2 overall and 3-0 in division play.
Senior running back Eric Kobilnyk led the charge on offense, continuing his impressive season with two touchdown runs of 21 and 5 yards. Kobilnyk’s hard-nosed running style and ability to find the end zone gave the Wildcats momentum early and kept the Bengals’ defense on its heels all game.
Defensively, junior standout Sam Kilisi was everywhere. He snagged two interceptions, including a 65-yard pick-six that brought the Pinelands crowd to its feet and effectively sealed the victory.
With strong play on both sides of the ball and confidence growing each week, the Wildcats are shaping up to be one of the Shore’s surprise stories this season as they continue their push toward a divisional title.
Week-7 game: Friday @ Manachester
The special guest to present the Team of the Week Game Ball and the $500 Pasta Party gift card was Joe Leone, the founder of Joe Leone’s Italian Specialties and supporter of the F.A.M.I.L.Y program which Pinelands is a member of.
