(5) Manalapan 59, (8) St. John Vianney 49

Junior Joe Farino poured in 22 points and the Braves (13-13) upended the Lancers (7-19) for their sixth straight win, which sends Manalapan to the Coaches Cup championship game on Saturday at Red Bank.

Senior Dean Aviles pitched in 18 points and junior Grayson Ferraro added 13 for Manalapan, which climbed back to a .500 winning percentage for the first time since dropping to 3-4 with their third straight loss on Jan. 8.

Junior Justin Togans scored a game-high 25 points to lead St. John Vianney.

(3) Red Bank 67, (2) Toms River East 57

Junior Justin Valentino scored a game-high 22 points and plucked seven rebounds to spark the Bucs (10-15) to a road win over the Raiders (13-11) that sends Red Bank to the Coaches Cup final on Saturday, which they will host against Manalapan at 3 p.m.

Junior Will Galligan added 13 points, senior Vin Niesz netted 10 and sophomore Wyatt Hegner contributed six points and seven rebounds to help power Red Bank. Junior Chase Baillie led Toms River East with 20 points, while sophomore Tommy Intintola added 15 points and 11 rebounds in the loss. Sophomore Brady Gillen also chipped in 13 points for the Raiders.

 

Non-Division

Freehold Twp. 68, Donovan Catholic 42

Junior Jake Schultzel scored 10 points and the Patriots (14-10) had 12 players scored a basket in a win over the Griffins (7-15). Junior Jack Dungaker added nine points and junior Jake Platt threw in eight for Freehold Township.

Freshman Gerard Gallo led Donovan Catholic with a game-high 15 points.

Point Boro 65, New Egypt 36

Junior Hunter Hynes scored 15 points to reach the 1,000-point benchmark for his high school career as the Panthers (17-9) cruised to a win over the Warriors (11-14).

Hynes is the first boys basketball player at Point Boro to reach 1,000 points before his senior year and is the second player on this team to record his 1,000th point in as many days. Senior Jovin Steinmetz scored his 1,000th point Wednesday in a win over Arthur L. Johnson, which ended on a game-winning three-pointer by Hynes as time expired.

Hynes also grabbed five rebounds and passed out five assists in the win. Steinmetz and fellow senior Dean Cardia each added 12 points, with Steinmetz also pulling in eight rebounds and Cardia contributing four assists and three steals. Junior Landon Hoyle pitched in nine points and three steals as well for Point Boro.

Southern 67, Shore 43

Junior Noah Perna scored 16 points, senior Jake Sliwinski logged a double-double and junior Gavin Gerckens came up one point shy of a double-double in a Rams (12-11) road win over the Blue Devils (18-6).

Sliwinski poured in 15 points and dished out 10 assists and Gerckens netted nine points while hauling in 18 rebounds. Senior Finn Watson scored 15 points and classmate Andrew Barham added 14 to lead Shore.

Central 61, Manchester 19

Junior Derek Roth outscored Manchester with a game-high 22 points and dealt out five assists as the Golden Eagles (16-9) celebrated their Senior Night with a win over the Hawks (5-19).

Senior Elijah Reeder posted eight points and 10 rebounds and junior Tyler Woermer added seven points and eight rebounds for Central. Junior Orion Andrews scored eight points to lead Manchester.

No. 5 Manasquan 63, No. 6 Howell 52

Sophomore Sean Bilodeau scored a career-high 24 points and junior Logan Cleveland poured in 19 while leading the Warriors (13-9) to a 20-7 start that carried them to a road win over the Rebels (18-6).

Junior Jayson Parker scored 15 points, classmate Eddie Garcia chipped in 14 and senior Cayden Parker added 12 to lead Howell.

Brick Memorial 68, Raritan 31

Senior Sean Collins scored a game-high 23 points and filled up the stat sheet with seven rebounds, five assists and three steals to lead the Mustangs (15-10) to a Senior Night win over the Rockets (10-14).

Senior Nyzier Matthews added 18 points for Brick Memorial while sophomore Mario Diamantis paced Raritan with 15 points.

Toms River North 94, Keyport 50

Senior Aidan Gavillan scored a career-high 20 points and clasmate Bryce Kazanowsky put up a double-double on Senior Night as the Mariners (9-16) topped the Red Raiders (10-15) on a night in which Keyport senior Kai Arrington scored his 1,000th career point.

Kazanowsky finished with 10 points, 15 rebounds and four blocked shots as one of six Toms River North scorers to reach double-figures. Sophomore Jake Greenberg matched Gavillan with 20 points, junior Logan Brill added 13, senior Jayden Thomas poured in 12 and sophomore Zeke Correa netted 10 for Toms River North.

Arrington pumped in a game-high 27 points to lead Keyport during his milestone night.

Steinert 62, Lakewood 42

Junior Cris Rosario scored 16 points and freshman Abel Martinez added nine to lead the Piners (2-20) in a loss to the Spartans (9-16).

Jackson 65, College Achieve Regional 51

Sophomore Mi’Aire Anderson dropped a game-high 21 points and pulled in eight rebounds to lead the Jaguars (16-5) over the Knights (2-9). Senior Jimmy Pappalardo poured in 14 points and senior Sean Hallihan contributed nine points and seven rebounds for Jackson.
