(6) Colts Neck 54, (3) Red Bank Catholic 48

Senior Lukas Sloan scored a game-high 28 points while also pulling in seven rebounds and the Cougars held off the Caseys to reach the WOBM Classic Ruhnke Bracket semifinals Saturday.

Sloan scored 16 of his points in the first half and scored six points in the final minute to close it out for Colts Neck. It is the third straight game to open the season in which Sloan has scored at least 20 points and he is now averaging 24.3 points per game.

Senior Bryce Belcher added 12 points and seven rebounds for Colts Neck. Senior Ryan Prior led Red Bank Catholic with 20 points and five rebounds, while junior Jake Frankel and senior Sean Saxton each scored nine points in the loss.

(2) Central 59, (7) Point Beach 38

Senior Jaycen Santucci scored 20 of his game-high 24 points in the second half and the Golden Eagles topped the Garnet Gulls to reach the Ruhnke Bracket semifinals Saturday against Colts Neck. Santucci also grabbed 10 rebounds and passed out three assists.

Senior Royalty Riley chipped in 10 points and eight rebounds for Central, which rolled out to a 27-10 lead by halftime behind Riley’s eight points in the first half. Senior Aidan Graham also pitched in six points, six rebounds, four assists and two steals.

Sophomore Danny Cavanaugh led Point Beach with 12 points and nine rebounds.

(4) Donovan Catholic 66, (5) Toms River North 49

Senior James Gibbons scored 23 points — including 18 in the second half — and pulled in 13 rebounds to key the Griffins to a convincing win over the Mariners to send Donovan Catholic into the Ruhnke Bracket semifinals.

Senior Ryan Jacobs poured in 13 of his 22 points in the first half, during which Donovan Catholic started a 10-0 run that put them in control of the scoreboard early in the third quarter, 39-28.

Toms River North pulled within 39-35 and trailed, 42-37, late in the third quarter before Donovan Catholic closed the quarter with an 11-2 run — capped by a three-pointer by sophomore Gabe Feliciano to beat the buzzer.

Senior Derek Espineli provided Donovan Catholic with a boost in the second quarter, during which he scored 10 of his 12 points.

Senior Bryce Kazanowsky led Toms River North with 12 points and 11 rebounds, with sophomore Jake Brill adding 10 points in the loss. Freshman Jake Greenberg also chipped in eight points and seven rebounds for Toms River North.

(1) Manasquan 80, (8) St. John Vianney 42

Senior Griffin Linstra scored a career-high 36 points — including the 1,000th of his career — while adding 11 rebounds and five assists as the Warriors broke away from the Lancers to advance to the Ruhnke Bracket semifinals Saturday against Donovan Catholic.

Linstra knocked down a three-pointer with under five minutes left in the fourth quarter to hit the milestone and end his day with Manasquan up big. The two teams came out of the first quarter tied, 15-15, before the Warriors outscored St. John Vianney, 17-5, in the second quarter to grab control of the game.

Sophomore Rey Weinseimer added 13 points for Manasquan, while sophomore Danny O’Neill led St. John Vianney with 13 of his own. Senior Alex Jurado also pitched in 10 points in the loss.

(11) Manchester 71, (14) Toms River South 70

Senior Aidan Lunn scored a career-high 39 points and the Hawks won a back-and-forth thriller over the Indians to pick up their first win of the season and advance to the Gepp Bracket semifinals.

Senior M.J. Goins added 18 points for Manchester, which withstood a career-high 33 points from Toms River South junior Shane Gambarony. Junior Kharii Pringle also netted 17 points in the loss.

(10) Middletown North 39, (15) Toms River East 36

Senior Colin Byrne scored nine of his game-high 17 points in the fourth quarter and the Lions pulled out a win over the Raiders behind a strong finish. Byrne scored all but two points in the fourth quarter for Middletown North, which outscored Toms River East, 11-2, in the fourth quarter.

Sophomore Nate Tyburczy added 13 points for Middletown North, while freshman Brady Gillen led Toms River East with 12 — all in the second and third quarters.

Middletown North will face Manchester in the Gepp semifinals and Toms River East will square off with Toms River South in the consolation round.

(12) Wall 49, (13) Brick Memorial 40

Senior Demitri Tu led a balanced scoring effort with 11 points and the Crimson Knights secured a first-round win over the Mustangs to reach the Gepp Bracket semifinals.

Four Wall players — junior Liam Killea, junior Jacob DeBrito, senior Isaac Irausquin and junior Dan Hennessy — added six points apiece for Wall. Juniors Nyzier Matthews and Austin Braaten each scored 10 points and classmate Sean Collins netted nine to lead Brick Memorial.

(9) Freehold Twp. 73, (16) Brick 46

Senior Nick Cardone led five Freehold Township players in double-figure scoring with 14 points and the Patriots coasted past the Green Dragons and into the Gepp Bracket semifinals Saturday against Wall.

Sophomore Cole Gerigk added 12 points, classmate John O’Neill chipped in 11 and senior Jordan Dulnuan and sophomore Jake Schultzel contributed 10 apiece for Freehold Township.

Sophomore Jamel Pitts led Brick with a game-high 18 points.

Paramus 33, Jackson Memorial 32

Junior Jimmy Papalardo scored 19 of Jackson Memorial’s 32 points as the Jaguars could not muster up enough offense outside Papalardo to overcome the Spartans. Jackson Memorial played the final three quarters without top scorer Randy Holmes Jr. due to illness.

Jackson Memorial will play Morristown-Beard in the consolation game at 4 p.m. on Friday.

Middlesex 73, Keyport 54

Senior Nico Dispenza scored 20 points and classmate Andrei Matthews poured in 18, but the Red Raiders could not keep pace with the Blue Jays and Owen Reynolds (25 points) in a round-one loss. Keyport will face Roselle Park Friday at 5 p.m. in the third-place game.
