Keyport 86, Asbury Park 53
Junior Kai Arrington scored 21 points to lead a high-scoring attack that lifted the Red Raiders to a road win over the Blue Bishops. Senior Nico Dispenza also pumped in 20 points and senior Andrei Matthews netted 18 for Keyport.
Senior Quamel Whittaker scored 17 points, sophomore Jason Whittaker added 12 and sophomore Anthony Stevens threw in 10 to lead Asbury Park.
No. 9 Ranney 76, Monmouth 39
Junior Shaan Nayar scored 21 points and senior MeSean Williams added 19 as the Panthers handled the Falcons to pick up a season-opening win. Nayar also posted 10 rebounds, four assists and three steals.
Sophomore Alex Heyser also poured in 10 points for Ranney, which took a 38-9 lead into halftime.
Junior Jaylin Reeves scored 12 points and sophomore Javon Bowles added nine to lead Monmouth.
Point Beach 49, Ocean 47
Sophomore Tyler Preston completed a go-ahead four-point play with 7.7 seconds and the Garnet Gulls escaped Ocean with a road win over the Spartans.
After trailing, 44-40, with 1:40 left, Ocean ripped off seven straight points to take a 47-44 lead, capped by a tie-breaking three-point play by Noah Nguyen with 19 seconds left. Preston then answered with a three-pointer as he was fouled and knocked down the ensuing free throw for a 48-47 lead.
Preston finished with six points, sophomore George Breckenridge led Point Beach with 13 points and junior Scot Crowley added 10 in the win.
Brick Memorial 38, Matawan 35
Junior Sean Collins scored 14 points and picked three steals to pace the Mustangs to a win over the Huskies. Junior Nyzier Matthews added eight points, seven rebounds and three steals, while junior Jason Lajara pitched in four assists and six steals to go with his two points for Brick Memorial, which turned the game in its favor with a 20-9 third-quarter run.

Point Boro 68, Toms River East 40
Sophomore Hunter Hynes set a career-best mark with 24 points — including 14 in Point Boro’s 29-point third quarter — and the Panthers rolled to a win over the Raiders to secure a spot in the championship game of the first Donovan Catholic Tip-Off Classic at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
Senior Drew Cardia added 14 points and junior Jovin Steinmetz netted eight for Point Boro.
Junior Shamus O’Grady and freshman Brady Gillen each scored 10 points to lead Toms River East.
Donovan Catholic 66, Brick 44
Senior Ryan Jacobs led three Donovan Catholic players in double-figures with 20 points and the Griffins handled the Green Dragons in their season-opener.
Senior James Gibbons added 13 points and sophomore Gabe Feliciano chipped in 13 for Donovan Catholic, which will play Point Boro Saturday in the championship game of the first ever Donovan Catholic Tip-Off Classic Showcase.
Sophomore Jamel Pitts led Brick with 25 points and four assists, while sophomore Sean Nausedas added 10 in the loss.

Shore 64, Central Jersey College Prep 45
Sophomore Maddox Paulin scored 19 points and senior Bryce Crowe kicked in 17 to lead the Blue Devils to a win over Central Jersey College Prep. Juniors Casias Colon and Finn Watson each added eight points for Shore.
Barnegat 49, Seneca 48
Senior Mason Krey led a balanced attack with 11 points and the Bengals delivered multiple key plays in the final minute to pull out a win over the Golden Eagles.
Senior Kyle Greenleaf scored the go-ahead basket on a tip-in with just under a minute to go, giving the Bengals a 47-46 lead. Senior Cole Toddings then converted a putback to stretch the lead to 49-46 with 21 seconds left. Toddings finished with eight points and sophomore Gaving Gerckens chipped in 10 for Barnegat.
