Senior running back Mordecai Ford ran for two touchdowns and caught another and senior quarterback T.J. Valerio tossed two touchdown passes and ran for a score to lead the two-time defending Group 5 state champion Mariners (10-0) to a blowout victory over the Bulldogs (6-4).
Ford had a 1-yard touchdown run and a 17-yard touchdown run along with a 35-yard touchdown reception. Valerio ran for a 2-yard touchdown, connected with senior wideout Cam Thomas for a 70-yard touchdown and passed to Ford for a 35-yard score.
Sophomore Wesley Tanner scored his first varsity touchdown to extend the lead to 42-0 in the third quarter and sophomore Lucas Elias ran for a 35-yard score to continue the onslaught. Sophomore defensive back Alex Greene capped the scoring with a 37-yard interception return for a touchdown.
Toms River North will host fifth-seeded Kingsway in the semifinals.

Junior quarterback Jason Lajara ran for two touchdowns and threw two touchdown passes as the Mustangs (8-2) crushed the Greyhounds (4-6) to score their most points since 2016 and advance to the sectional semifinals.
Lajara had touchdown r uns of 1 and 5 yards, tossed a 1-yard touchdown pass to junior wide receiver Nyzier Matthews and threw a 72-yard touchdown pass to sophomore wideout Shawn Fowler. Senior running back Kevin Andrews ran for two touchdowns in his return to action after missing the last three games, and junior Erik Pedre added a pair of touchdown r uns in the fourth qu arter.
Brick Memorial will host No. 6 seed Jackson Memorial in the semifinals. The Mustangs beat the Jaguars 37-0 in Week 8 but Jackson welcomed back standout junior running back Jonah Glenn in a 46-13 first-round win over Central.

Senior wide receiver Eric Zebrowski ran for two touchdowns and caught another and junior running back Jonah Glenn returned after missing two games with an injury to rush for 183 yards and 2 touchdowns on 10 carries as the Jaguars (5-5) walloped the Golden Eagles (8-2) to earn a rematch with Brick Memorial in the sectional semifinals.
Zebrowski gave Jackson an early 7-0 lead with a 34-yard touchdown run and added a 35-yard touchdown run and a 68-yard touchdown reception. Glenn had a 6-yard touchdown run followed by an 84-yard touchdown run in his first action in three weeks. Junior linebacker/running back Jio Kabiri returned an interception 37 yards for a touchdown and ran for an 8-yard touchdown.
Senior quarterback Joe Vezzosi had a 37-yard touchdown pass to sophomore wide receiver C.J. Yates and also ran for a touchdown for Central.
Jackson will play No. 2 seed Brick Memorial in the semifinals. The Mustangs defeated the Jaguars 37-0 in Week 8 when Jackson was without Glenn.

Senior quarterback Ryan Dougherty ran for a touchdown and tossed touchdown passes to Vin DiFilippo and Justin Troxell-Rizzo as the Braves (5-5) cruised past the Indians (6-3) and into the semifinals.
Sophomore running back Nicky Palmieri and junior running back Ahsere Woolfolk both ran for touchdowns while Jackson Pfister and CJ Corsaro had interceptions on defense.
Manalapan will travel south to face top-seeded Winslow Township in the semifinals.
2-Middletown North 37, 7- Steinert 7
Senior Brian O’Donnell ran for three touchdowns, including a 75-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter, as the Lions (8-0) pulled away from the Spartans (4-5) in the second half to win their first playoff game since 2016.
Middletown North led 14-7 at halftime before closing the game with 23 unanswered points. Senior defensive back T.J. Rey returned an interception for a touchdown and junior quarterback Owen Robson threw a touchdown pass to senior tight end Joe Grasso.
The Loins will host No. 3 seed Shawnee in the semifinals.

1-Rumson Fair Haven 48, 8-Spotswood 0
Senior quarterback Owen O’Toole threw two touchdown passes and ran for another and junior running back Kellen Murray had two touchdown runs to lead the Bulldogs (9-0) to a blowout victory over the Chargers (8-2).
Rumson scored all of its points in the first half as O’Toole threw a 30-yard touchdown pass to senior Carson Memmott, tossed a 7-yard touchdown pass to senior Nick Thomas and ran for a 3-yard touchdown. Murray had scoring runs of 7 and 63 yards. The defensive and special teams also got in on the fun with senior Jordan Angstreich returning a punt 84 yards for a touchdown and junior linebacker Dylan Plesser delivering a 20-yard pick-6.
Rumson will host No. 4 seed Delran in the semifinals. The Bears (9-1) defeated Delaware Valley 42-7 in the quarterfinals.

Junior running back Dylan Cohen had two touchdown runs and sophomore quarterback Franny Scaramellino ran for a touchdown and threw a touchdown when the Crimson Knights (7-1) shut out the Garnets (2-7) to advance to the semifinals.
Junior Heath Reinhardt caught a 36-yard touchdown pass from Scaramellino and junior linebacker Wyatt Capro blocked a punt and returned it 40 yards for a touchdown.
Wall will host No. 3 seed Haddonfield in the semifinals.
South Jersey Group 2
3-Manchester 30, 6-West Deptford 29
Senior kicker Ian Spicer connected on a 37-yard field goal with 2.7 seconds left in the fourth quarter to complete a dramatic comeback that saw the Hawks (8-2) rally past the Eagles (5-5) for their first state playoff win in program history.
Trailing 29-21 early in the fourth quarter, Manchester drove 62 yards in six plays to find the end zone on a 2-yard touchdown run by senior quarterback Aidan Lunn. The 2-point conversion pass was intercepted, however, leaving the Hawks down by two points with 6:27 on the clock.
The Manchester defense was able to get a stop to force a West Deptford punt and take over at its own 13-yard line with 2:08 left. Lunn connected with senior MJ Goins for 44 yards into West Deptford territory on the first play. Runs of 11 and 10 yards by Lunn then moved the ball to the 25-yard line before a scramble for five yards with 9.7 seconds left to set up Spicer for the historic game-winning field goal.
Lunn threw for 198 yards and ran for 51 yards and two touchdowns and senior running back Avery Phillips ran for 42 yards and two touchdowns and caught four passes for 90 yards.
Manchester will play at second-seeded Point Boro in the semifinals.
2-Point Boro 41, 7-Gloucester City 13
Senior fullback Dylan Reitmeyer ran for 127 yards and two touchdowns on 17 carries and sophomore quarterback Jake Clayton accounted for four touchdowns as the Panthers (8-2) rolled over the Lions (3-6) and into the semifinals.
Clayton ran for 66 yards and 2 touchdowns on 10 carries and completed both of his pass attempts for 84 yards and 2 touchdowns, both of which went to senior slotback Colin Obser. Sophomore running back Nick Spanola added 56 yards rushing on four carries.
Obser made six tackles, senior defensive lineman Lou DiBiase had five tackles and one sack, and senior defensive lineman Tanner Hynes had five tackles to lead the defense.
Point Boro will host No. 3 seed Manchester in the semifinals.

2-Shore 21, 7-New Egypt 0
Senior quarterback Josh Moeller threw two touchdown passes and ran for another as the Blue Devils (9-0) blanked the Warriors (5-4) for the second time this season to remain unbeaten and advance to the semifinals.
Moeller threw a 25-yard touchdown pass to Charlie McQuillan in the first quarter, a 16-yard touchdown pass to Enzo Cagliastro in the third quarter, and rushed for a 3-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter. Sophomore running back Cole Torres ran for a team-high 98 yards.
Junior running back Lucas Burgos ran for 98 yards to lead New Egypt.
Shore will host No. 6 seed Woodbury in the semifinals.

Red Bank Catholic 35, Donovan Catholic 14
Senior quarterback Frankie Williams tossed three touchdown passes to junior wide receiver Johnny Williams and ran for a touchdown to lead the Caseys (6-3) to a comeback win over the Griffins (2-6) and a three-game winning streak entering the playoffs.
Donovan took a 14-0 lead on a 10-yard touchdown run by senior Michael Thomas III and a touchdown pass from sophomore quarterback Kyle Dow to senior Isaac Correia before RBC got on the board via a 14-yard touchdown run by Willimas. A 3-yard touchdown run by senior running back Jamie Gutridge tied the score with 3:28 left in the first half and the Williams brothers connected on a 10-yard scoring play for a 21-14 Caseys lead with 1:43 left before halftime.
A 36-yard touchdown pass from Williams to Williams made it 28-14 in the third quarter and the tandem hooked up on a 24-yard touchdown pass with 1:56 left in the game.

Central Jersey Group 4
4-Marlboro 22, 5-Toms River South 16 (OT)
Senior running back Christian LaFonte scored on a 15-yard touchdown run as the Mustangs (6-3) rallied for a walk-off win over the Indians (5-5) to advance to the Central Jersey Group 4 semifinals.
Toms River South led 13-6 at halftime on a 5-yard touchdown run by senior running back Jake Henehan and field goals of 37 and 21 yards by senior Chase Ford. LaFonte had a 1-yard touchdown run in the first half.
The Indians’ lead grew to 16-6 on Ford’s third field goal of the game early in the fourth quarter. Marlboro’s comeback began with a 1-yard touchdown run by LaFonte with 6:27 remaining in regulation to cut Toms River South’s lead to 16-13. The Mustangs got the ball back late in the game at their own 10-yard line and immediately moved into scoring position when senior wide receiver Luke Houston took a middle screen 70 yards into Toms River South territory. Marlboro had a g0-ahead touchdown negated by a penalty and had to settle for a 30-yard field goal attempt that Max Luzio converted to sent the game to overtime tied at 16.
Toms River South had the first possession but came away with no points when a field goal attempt hit off the upright. That opened the door for Marlboro and LaFonte ran right through it to send the Mustangs to the sectional semifinals for the third straight season. Marlboro will travel to face top-seeded Millville next Friday night.

3-Holmdel 35, 6-Oakcrest 12
Junior quarterback ran for 168 yards and five touchdowns on 21 carries and completed 7 of 9 passes for 80 as the Hornets (8-1) rolled over the Falcons (6-4) and into the South Jersey Group 3 semifinals.
Senior running back Matt Iulo ran for 76 yards on 17 carries and sophomore running back Matt Schienman ran for 27 yards to complete a 271-yard rushing performance. On defense, junior linebacker Peter Berardi had two fumble recoveries and one forced fumble and senior defensive back Trey Critchley forced a fumble.
Holmdel will travel to No. 2 seed Mainland for a semifinal game next Friday night.
