No. 2 Wall 1, Manasquan 0

Sophomore Megan Farrell scored the game’s only goal in the 68th minute off a cross by sophomore Kelsey Hallock to lead the Crimson Knights (1-0) to a narrow victory over the rival Warriors (0-1).

 

No. 3 Red Bank Catholic 4, Shore 0

Junior forward Paige Foye delivered a hat trick, sophomore forward Mia Cupo scored once and sophomore keeper Heidi Weirman made six saves to post a clean sheet as the Caseys (1-1) blanked the Blue Devils (0-1) to give Brian Blue his first win as RBC head coach.

 

No. 5 Middletown South 2, Middletown North 1 (ET)

Freshman Riley Kapler scored the golden goal off an assist from Bea Tinoco with 2:38 in the first extra-time period to lift the Eagles to a thrilling victory over the rival Lions in the season opener for both teams.

Grace Gironda also scored for Middletown South while Julianna Fiore made three saves.

Sofia Chaknis scored off an assist from Jayme Malanda and Loralai Davis made seven saves for Middletown North.

 

No. 10 Lacey 2, Ocean 1

Reece Paget and Natalie McGovern assisted on each other’s goals and Ava Schmidt made seven saves as the Lions (2-0) outlasted the Spartans (0-1).

McGovern’s goal in the 62nd minute snapped a 1-1 tie.

Mia Fiorentino scored off an assist from Isabella Santucci and Leyla Littman made eight saves for Ocean.

 

St. John Vianney 3, Jackson Memorial 1

Kennedy Wallace, Caitlin Smith and Milani Thompson each scored once and Katie Buffalino made seven saves to lead the Lancers (1-0) past the Jaguars (0-1).

Madison Fagliarone scored for Jackson.

 

Monmouth 4, Raritan 2

Jenna Chiapowski recorded a hat trick and Julianna Emerson tallied a goal and an assist to power the Falcons (2-0) to a victory over the Rockets (0-1).

Amaya Harris made four saves and Jaslyn Kaur and Jalissa Jay had one assist each.

 

Southern 2, Freehold 1

Isabella Compitello scored the go-ahead goal off an assist from Brinley Reynolds in the second half to lead the Rams (1-1) to a win over the Colonials (0-2).

Sam Cushing scored Southern’s first goal, also of an assist from Reynolds. Alyssa Larsen tied the score for Freehold later in the second half. Kelly Quinn made three saves for Southern and Kendall Livingston made nine saves for Freehold.

 

 

Nonconference

 No. 8 Rumson-Fair Haven 6, Pascack Valley 3

Senior midfielder Stella Saad shined with a hat trick plus two assists as the Bulldogs (1-0) doubled up the Panthers (0-2).

Chloe Dengler added a goal and an assist and Brooke Lucci and Jordyn Sullivan each scored once. Ella Curran (5 saves) and Allison DeFazio (2 saves) split time in goal.

Rumson led 4-1 at halftime.

 

Toms River South 3, Bloomfield 2

Daniella Gordon scored a brace and Alexis Cecere scored once for the Indians in their season-opening victory over the Bengals.

Hannah Puglisi made two saves and Ava Knight added an assist.

 

Paramus 3, Matawan 1

Emilia Janiszewski scored off an assist from Ella Frye for the Huskies’ lone goal in their loss to the Spartans.

Victoria Gil, Bella Amato and Lilianna Gervasio each scored once and Kalista Marciniak made four saves for Paramus (2-0).

Matawan fell to 1-1.
