Shore Sports Insider Girls Soccer Week Ten Top 10 Rankings
1. Manalapan (19-0) Last Week: 1 – Manalapan’s perfect season continues as they prepare for their Central Jersey Group 4 semifinal game against Hillsborough. The Braves made easy work of Edison in the first round and defeated Princeton in the second round, 3-0. Senior Daniella Butash has 2 goals and an assist in the first two rounds and Olivia Ziobro has one goal and three assists. If Manalapan defeats the four-seeded Hillsborough, they will host the winner of the Howell/Freehold Township game in the sectional final on Saturday.

2.Trinity Hall (18-3-2) Last Week: 2 – Trinity Hall returns to the South Jersey Non-Public A final for the second time in three seasons. The Monarchs have a pair of 1-0 victories after earning a bye in the first-round. Junior Kailyn Fitzgerald was once again the hero in the second round win over Camden Catholic. Trinity Hall had a freshman play the hero role in the semifinal game against Notre Dame. Anna Noble scored the Monarchs lone goal in the second-half to send Trinity Hall into the final where they play top-seeded Paul VI on Thursday.

3.Central (17-1-1) Last Week: 3 – Central is one game away from returning to the South Jersey Group 4 final for the third straight season. In the opening round, the Golden Eagles beat Lenape 3-0 behind two goals from Ava Bozinis. Central’s second round win over Southern did not come easy. After an early second-half goal by Sophia Napolitano, the Golden Eagle defense and goalkeeper Addison Frulio were able to hold off Southern’s late first-half attack and second-half chances. Frulio and the Central defense earned their 15th shutout of the season. Central takes on the fourth-seeded Egg Harbor on Wednesday in the sectional semifinal.

4. Howell (16-4) Last Week: 5 – Howell, who is the two-seed in Central Jersey Group 4, won two hard fought battles to advance into the semifinal round. The Rebels defeated 15-seed Hunterdon Central in the first round. 3-1. Three different players scored for Howell with Isabella Farinick adding an assist to her second-half goal. The Rebels built a 3-0 lead in the first 13 minutes of the game against Montgomery, before they saw it shrink away early in the second-half. Howell was able to regroup and added two insurance goals to win 5-2. Makenzie Memmolo scored a goal and had two assists in the game. Howell hosts sixth-seeded Freehold Township in the semifinal round on Wednesday. Howell defeated Freehold Township 5-1 in a Class A North game during the regular season.
5. Point Boro (14-3) Last Week: 6 – The defending Group 2 champions are one game away from returning to the Central Jersey Group 2 final and they need to defeat a local opponent to do so. After defeating Pemberton 6-0 in the first-round, the Panthers received a boost with the return of senior Elise Viggiano in the second-round. Viggiano, who missed time due to a bad injury in the Shore Conference Tournament, scored a goal in a 3-0 victory over Delran. Point Boro will host the sixth-seeded Wall in the semifinal round. Point Boro defeated Wall on penalty kicks last season to win the sectional title.
6. Rumson-Fair Haven (13-10) Last Week: 4 – Rumson’s season came to an end against Central Jersey Group 2 rival Wall in the second round on penalty kicks. This is the second time in three seasons that Wall defeated Rumson on penalty kicks. This was the fourth meeting in six years for these two teams in the postseason. Rumson defeated Robbinsville in the first-round 4-0. Duke commit Jordyn Sullivan netted a hat trick to finish the season with 32 goals, doubling last season’s total.

7. Red Bank Catholic (13-5-1) Last Week: 7 – The Caseys’ season came to an end in the semifinal round of South Jersey Non-Public A against top-seeded Paul VI. RBC fell to the No. 2 team in New Jersey 3-0 on the road. RBC made quick work in their opening round game, but needed to go to a shootout in the second round against St. John Vianney. After both teams battled to a 0-0 tie after 100 minutes, RBC won on penalty-kicks 4-3 to advance. RBC only graduates six seniors and has the majority of their rotation returning next season.
8.Toms River South (12-5-2) Last Week: 8 – Sophomore Daniella Gordon has raised the level of her play in the second-half of the season to help the Indians reach the semifinal round of South Jersey Group 3. In the opening round, Gordon scored a goal and assisted on the other in a 2-1 win over Ocean City, the team who ended the Indians’ season last year. Sophomore goalie Reese Lindemann earned her 10th shutout of the season in the second-round in a 2-0 win over Lacey. Toms River South will travel to top-seeded Shawnee on Wednesday in the semifinal round.

9. Middletown South (11-7) Last Week: 10 – Middletown South is hitting their stride at the right time. After battling injuries to end the regular season and the Shore Conference Tournament, the Eagles have made easy work in their first two games of North Jersey Section 2 Group 3. In the opening round they defeated Matawan 7-0 and followed that with a 6-0 win over Iselin Kennedy. Sophomore Julianna Fiore returned in goal in the second-round after missing over a month of action. Middletown South will travel to two-seed Cranford on Wednesday. Rutgers commit Bea Tinoco has three goals and four assists in the first two games and has raised her career total to 81 goals.

10. Freehold Township (8-10-2) Last Week: Not Ranked – The Patriots return to the rankings for the third time this season. The young Patriots are putting it all together at the right time of the season. Freehold Township has shown during the season what the Shore Conference has to face in the coming seasons. The Patriots defeated Marlboro 1-0 in the first-round of the Central Jersey Group 4 sectional. Senior Reese Metcalfe scored the game’s lone goal for the Patriots. Freehold Township followed that with an upset over the three-seed Old Bridge. Freshman Morgan Notaro scored two goals to bring her total to 13 on the season. Freehold Township travels to face the two-seed Howell in the semifinal on Wednesday.
