Week 10 – NJSIAA Team Tournament, Feb. 10 – Feb. 16
Elijah Bayne, Sr., 120, Rumson-Fair Haven
Bayne was 5-0 during Rumson’s march to its second straight NJSIAA Group state title with five pins, including the state-championship clinching fall in the final bout of a 40-28 win over Caldwell.
Thomas Blewett, So., 106, Middletown North
Blewett’s 3-0 week during Middletown North’s run to the North 2, Group 4 sectional final included two pins in under 30 seconds plus a 10-0 major decision over North Hunterdon standout Cayden Wadle.
Michael Boulard, Fr., 144, Wall
Boulard went 3-0 with two falls and a major decision, headlined by his pin of two-time region medalist Boomer Volek in Wall’s win over Ocean in the Central Jersey Group 2 quarterfinals.
Jayce Cappello, Fr., 132, Toms River East
Capello went 3-0 with three pins to help the Raiders reach the NJSIAA South Jersey Group 4 final.
Michael DiBiase, Sr., 113, Red Bank Catholic
During the NJSIAA Non-Public DiBiase scored an 8-1 win over Pope John senior Jake Holly, who was the state’s 8th-place finisher at 106 pounds last season.
Marlowe Donato, Jr., 114, Jackson Memorial
Donato delivered a walk-off pin when the Jaguars rallied with three straight falls to defeat Newton, 36-33, in a dramatic conclusion to the NJ Girls Duals. The event featured 12 teams who qualified based on the NJSIAA’s power points and was organized by the New Jersey Girls Wrestling Coaches Association.
Bobby Duffy, Jr., 132, CBA
Duffy hit a standing cradle to pin two-time state champion Adrian DeJesus of St. Joseph Regional (Montvale) during the NJSIAA Non-Public A quarterfinals.
Tornick Kajaia, Jr., 175, Long Branch
Kajaia won by fall when the Green Wave defeated Colts Neck, 36-25, to win the NJSIAA Central Jersey Group 4 sectional title. He also won his bout during Long Branch’s loss to Phillipsburg in the Group 4 semifinals, defeating region qualifier Derek Stone by 10-4 decision.
Caden Langan, Sr., 157, Toms River South
The Indians won their first sectional title since 2013 with a 40-28 win over Toms River East in the South Jersey Group 4 final and Langan was clutch the entire tournament with three pins and a major decision in four bouts.
Harvey Ludington, Sr., 190, Brick Memorial
Ludington’s wild 9-8 victory over Cranford’s Jordan Chapman in the final seconds of their 190-pound bout kicked off a string of five straight wins by the Mustangs, who rallied from a 24-point deficit for a remarkable 36-35 victory over the Cougars in the NJSIAA Group 3 semifinals.
John Markowski, Fr., 113, St. John Vianney
Markowski got the call at 113 due to an injury and delivered two pins in victories over Pingry and Bergen Catholic to help the Lancers reach the Non-Public A semifinals.
Anthony Mason, Jr., 113, Southern
Mason went 5-0 with three pins and two technical falls and recorded his 100th career victory during the team state finals when the Rams won their third straight NJSIAA Group 5 championship with a 58-18 win over Bridgewater-Raritan.
