Sophie Babineau, Sr., 132, Manalapan

-Won her first Shore Conference Tournament title with a first-period pin over Manchester’s Nariah Miles in the 132-pound final. A two-time SCT third-place finisher heading into the tournament, Babineau won by fall in the first round and then earned a 4-3 win in tiebreaker over Central’s JayAnna Hahn in the semifinals.

 

Elijah Bayne, Sr., 126, Rumson-Fair Haven

-The returning state qualifier earned his 1ooth career win when he pinned Southern sophomore and returning state qualifier Cash McVey during the No. 2 Bulldogs’ 39-27 win over the No. 4 Rams.

 

Michael Boulard, Fr., 144, Wall

-Had a 3-0 week headlined by a final-bout victory at 150 pounds to give Wall a 31-30 comeback win over Holmdel. He won by major decision in the Crimson Knights’ win over Manasquan and won by technical fall in a win over Point Beach.

 

Ava Bonilla, Jr., 107, Jackson Memorial

-Dominated the 107-pound bracket en route to her third straight Shore Conference Tournament title. Had two falls in under a minute in the quarterfinals and semifinals before winning by fall over Long Branch’s Danielle Silva De Jesus in the championship bout. Bonilla was fourth in the state at 100 pounds last season.

 

Cole DeAngelo, Fr., 126, Red Bank Catholic

-Earned a key major-decision victory over Ocean junior and returning state qualifier Steven Perez when RBC defeated the Spartans, 40-26, and also won by major decision in the Caseys’ 43-33 win over Howell.

 

Kylie Gudewitz, Jr., 114, Howell

-The defending NJSIAA 114-pound champion won her third straight Shore Conference Tournament title with a 10-0 major decision over Jackson Memorial’s Marlowe Donato, who was the 107-pound state runner-up last season.

 

Rosabella Kearns, Sr., 145, Freehold Township

-A two-time state medalist, including fifth at 138 pounds last season, Kearns won her first Shore Conference Tournament title in dramatic fashion by securing a takedown in sudden victory to defeat Point Boro’s Charlize Schlam, 3-0.

 

Aidan Leonard, Jr., 215, Brick

-Went 4-0 during the week, headlined by a major decision in the final bout to give Brick a 36-32 in over Pinelands.

 

Anthony Mason, Jr., 113, Southern

Went 3-0 with two pins and a major-decision victory over Colts Neck junior returning region champion Ethan Michaels. Mason was the 106-pound state runner-up last season.

 

Daniella Palacios, Sr., 185, Lakewood

-Won her first Shore Conference Tournament title with a pair of pins, including a third-period fall over Howell’s Morayo Illori to win the championship.

 

Thea Rowland, Sr., 152, Middletown South

-Rowland, who was last season’s 145-pound NJSIAA state champion, won their third consecutive Shore Conference Tournament championship when she won by fall over Raritan’s Brigid Hatton in the first period of the 152-pound final.

 

Sophia VanSplinter, Fr., 138, Central

-The lowest seeded wrestler to win a Shore Conference Tournament title when she came from the No. 5 seed to win the 138-pound SCT championship. She defeated the No. 4 seed by fall in the quarterfinals, won 10-7 over top-seeded Marily Dominguez of Lakewood in the semifinals, and won by fall over No. 2 seed ElleCe McGinely of Jackson Memorial in the final.

 

Dominic Volek, So., 138, Ocean

-Won by major decision over Middletown North state qualifier Justin Fearon in Ocean’s 39-33 win over the previously-undefeated Lions, headlining a 3-0 week where he also recorded a pin and a technical fall.
