We’re back with the Week 9 NuVision Resolve Shore Conference Football Player of the Week poll where we post nominees for the Shore Conference offensive, defensive and special teams Players of the Week and give readers the chance to choose who should take home the award based on their performance in the previous week’s games.

Shore Sports Insider will also select its own offensive, defensive and special teams Players of the Week for each of the Shore Conference’s seven divisions.

Read through each player’s accomplishments for the week and cast your votes. This week’s poll will close on Wednesday at 10 p.m.

OFFENSE

Rahmel Anderson, Sr., QB, Lakewood

-Ran for a career-high 356 yards and four touchdowns on 42 carries in a loss to Bordentown to go over 2,000 yards rushing for the second straight season.

 

Caleb Brown, So., QB, Neptune

-Ran for 135 yards and a touchdown on nine carries and threw a touchdown pass in a 34-0 win over Freehold.

 

Jake Clayton, So., QB, Point Boro

-Ran for 66 yards and two touchdowns on 10 carries and completed both of his pass attempts for 84 yards and two touchdowns to help lead the Panthers to a 41-13 win over Gloucester City in the South Jersey Group 2 quarterfinals.

 

Jack Cannon, Jr., QB, Holmdel

-Ran for 168 yards and five touchdowns on 21 carries and completed 7 of 9 passes for 80 yards to power the Hornets to a 35-12 win over Oakcrest in the first round of the South Jersey Group 3 playoffs.

 

Ryan Dougherty, Sr., QB, Manalapan

-Completed 9 of 11 passes for 130 yards and 2 touchdowns and ran for a touchdown in the Braves’ 35-12 win over Pennsauken in the first round of the South Jersey Group 4 playoffs.

 

Ace Etienne, Jr., RB, Manasquan

-Rushed for 148 yards and three touchdowns on 10 carries in a 34-7 win over Brick.

 

Mordecai Ford, Sr., RB, Toms River North

-Ran for 53 yards and two touchdowns on just five carries, caught three passes for 68 yards and a touchdown, and added 2.5 tackles for loss on defense when the Mariners won 55-6 over Bridgeton in the first round of the South Jersey Group 5 playoffs.

 

Jonah Glenn, Jr., RB, Jackson Memorial

-Returned after a two-game absence and a lingering injury to rush for 181 yards and two touchdowns on 10 carries when the Jaguars routed Central Regional, 45-13, in the first round of the Central Jersey Group 4 playoffs.

 

Tyler Gustafson, So., RB, Monmouth

-Ran for a career-high 220 yards and three touchdowns on 28 carries to lead the Falcons to their first win of the season with a 28-21 victory over Keyport in their final game.

 

Christian LaFonte, Sr., RB, Marlboro

-Ran for 84 yards and three touchdowns, including the game-winning score in the overtime, when the Mustangs rallied for a 22-16 win over Toms River South in the first round of the Central Jersey Group 4 playoffs.

 

Jason Lajara, Jr., QB, Brick Memorial

-Completed 8 of 12 passes for 163 yards and 2 touchdowns and ran for 125 yards and 2 touchdowns on nine carries to power the Mustangs to a 56-0 win over Northern Burlington in the first round of the Central Jersey Group 4 playoffs.

 

Josh Moeller, Sr., QB, Shore

-Threw two touchdown passes and ran for another to lead the undefeated Blue Devils to a 21-0 win over New Egypt in the first round of the Central Jersey Group 1 state playoffs.

 

Kellen Murray, Jr., RB, Rumson-Fair Haven

-Rushed for 103 yards and two touchdowns on seven carries to go over 1,000 yards rushing on the season in the Bulldogs’ 48-0 win over Spotswood in the first round of the Central Jersey Group 2 playoffs.

 

Brian O’Donnell, Sr., RB/WR, Middletown North

-Ran for 95 yards and three touchdowns on six carries, caught three passes for 22 yards and added 9 tackles with 2 tackles for loss in the Lions’ 37-7 win over Steinert in the first round of the South Jersey Group 4 playoffs.

 

Avery Phillips, Sr., RB, Manchester

-Ran for 59 yards and two touchdowns on nine carries and caught four passes for 91 yards to help the Hawks beat West Deptford, 30-29, in the first round of the South Jersey Group 2 playoffs for their first playoff win in program history.

 

Heath Reinhardt, Jr., WR, Wall

-Caught three passes for 97 yards and a touchdown in the Crimson Knight’s 34-0 win over Haddon Heights in the first round of the Central Jersey Group 2 playoffs.

 

Abdul Turay, So., RB, St. John Vianney

-Ran for a career-high 255 yards and three touchdowns on 31 carries in the Lancers’ 32-29 win over St. Joseph (Metuchen) to close out their regular season.

 

Frankie Williams, Sr., QB, Red Bank Catholic

-Completed 14 of 23 passes for 277 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 37 yards and a touchdown to lead the No. 4 Caseys to a 35-14 win over No. 9 Donovan Catholic in their regular-season finale.

 

 

 

DEFENSE

Nico Aquilone, Sr., LB, St. John Vianney

-Recorded three sacks and four tackles for loss to help lead the Lancers to a 32-29 win over St. Joseph (Metuchen) in their final game of the regular season.

 

Zach Caporale, Jr., DB, Marlboro

-Recorded a team-high 12 tackles and made two tackles for loss to help the Mustangs rally for a 22-16 overtime victory over Toms River South in the Central Jersey Group 4 quarterfinals.

 

DJ Corsaro, Jr., DB, Manalapan

-Intercepted a pass, forced a fumble and recorded four tackles with one tackle for loss when the Braves defeated Pennsauken 35-12 in the first round of the South Jersey Group 4 playoffs.

 

Alex Greene, So., DB, Toms River North

-Recorded his first varsity interception and returned it 23 yards for a touchdown in the Mariners’ 55-6 win over Bridgeton in the first round of the South Jersey Group 5 playoffs.

 

William Holland, Jr., DB, Neptune

-Intercepted two passes and returned both for touchdowns in the Scarlet Fliers’ 34-0 win over Freehold.

 

Tanner Hynes, Sr., DL, Point Boro

-Recorded two sacks and five total tackles in the Panthers’ 41-13 win over Gloucester City in the South Jersey Group 2 quarterfinals.

 

Dax Klein, So., LB, Manasquan

-Had the best game of his young career on an emotional day by recording 11 tackles, 1 sack, and 2 tackles for loss on defense and rushing for a touchdown in Manasquan’s 34-7 win over Brick.

 

Kurtis Mayer, Jr., DL, Manchester

-Posted a game-high 12 tackles, including 11 solo stops, to help the Hawks win their first state playoff game in program history with a dramatic 30-29 victory over West Deptford in the first round of the South Jersey Group 2 tournament.

 

Giorgio Olmo, Sr., LB, Red Bank Catholic

-Recorded seven tackles, intercepted a pass and forced a fumble to help the No. 4 Caseys to a 35-14 win over No. 9 Donovan Catholic to close out the regular season.

 

Erik Pedre, Jr., LB, Brick Memorial

-Had an interception and a tackle for loss plus two touchdown runs on offense when the Mustangs shut out Northern Burlington, 56-0, in the first round of the Central Jersey Group 4 playoffs.

 

Dylan Plesser, Jr., LB, Rumson-Fair Haven

-Recorded five tackles and his first varsity interception which he returned 20 yards for a touchdown when the Bulldogs shut out Spotswood 48-0 in the first round of the Central Jersey Group 2 playoffs.

 

TJ Rey, Sr., DB, Middletown North

-Recorded five tackles and returned an interception for a touchdown in the Lions’ 37-7 win over Steinert in the first round of the South Jersey Group 4 playoffs.

 

Eric Zebrowski, Sr., DB, Jackson Memorial

-Had a great all-around game with 11 tackles and 2 tackles for loss on defense along with 154 yards from scrimmage and 3 touchdowns in the Jaguars’ 46-13 upset win over Central in the first round of the Central Jersey Group 4 playoffs.

 

 

 

SPECIAL TEAMS

Jordan Angstreich, Sr., Rumson-Fair Haven

-Returned a punt 84 yards for a touchdown in the Bulldogs’ 48-0 win over Spotswood in the Central Jersey Group 2 playoffs.

 

Wyatt Capro, Jr., Wall

-Blocked a punt and returned it 53 yards for a touchdown in the Crimson Knights 34-0 win over Haddon Heights in the first round of the Central Jersey Group 2 playoffs.

 

Max Luzio, Jr., K, Marlboro

-Kicked a game-tying 30-yard field as time expired in regulation to send the game to overtime where Marlboro defeated Toms River South, 22-16, in the first round of the Central Jersey Group 4 playoffs.

 

Ian Spicer, Sr., K, Manchester

-Delivered a game-winning 38-yard field goal with 2.7 seconds left in the fourth quarter to lift the Hawks to their first state playoff win in program history with a 30-29 victory over West Deptford in the South Jersey Group 2 quarterfinals. He was also 3-for-3 on extra points.
