The 40th Annual WOBM Christmas Classic Basketball Tournament

The highly anticipated 40th annual WOBM Christmas Classic, presented by Jersey Mike’s, will take place from December 26-30 at the RWJBarnabas Health Arena at Toms River High School North. This premier basketball event will feature 16 boys’ and 16 girls’ high school teams from Ocean and Monmouth counties, making it one of the highlights of the winter sports season.

All 32 teams will begin their journey on Thursday, December 26, with first-round games held in either the main arena or the recently dedicated Ray Cervino Gym across the hall. Games will tip off at 10:00 AM in both facilities, with action running for 12-13 hours in what promises to be a thrilling day of basketball.

The tournament’s 32 coaches meet on Sunday 12/15  at The Office Restaurant & Lounge in Toms River. During this breakfast gathering, the teams were seeded as follows:

• The top eight boys’ teams will compete in the Jim Ruhnke Bracket, while seeds 9-16 will play in the Steve Gepp Bracket.
• On the girls’ side, the top eight teams will be placed in the Ray Cervino Bracket, with seeds 9-16 in the Kathy Snyder Bracket.

Below is the preliminary tournament schedule, which will be updated throughout the week:

• Win on December 26, and you’ll advance to play on December 28.
• Lose on December 26, and you’ll return for a consolation game on December 27.
