No. 1 CBA 6, Barnegat 0

Senior James Brady scored two of CBA’s three goals in the first half and assisted his team’s first goal of the second half as the Colts (9-1-2) clinched a spot in the SCT with a comfortable win over the Bengals (6-5).

Senior Will Dreschler kicked off the scoring with a penalty kick near the midway point of the first half, followed by consecutive goals by Brady five minutes apart. Brady finished a cross from junior Justin Arias in the 27th minute and headed in a cross from classmate Trey Higgins for a 3-0 lead in the 32nd.

Senior Alec Notaro punched in a feed from Brady in the 49th minute and CBA moved to the brink of an early victory in the 54th minute with its fifth goal — a finish by senior Jack Urbanski off a find by junior Matt Papagni. Senior Ryan Asadi ended the game in the 79th with a goal off a pass from fellow senior Nick Silva.

 

Group 6

No. 8 Manasquan 4, Lakewood 2

Junior Alex Lapitzski and senior Cruz Farkas scored two minutes apart in the early minutes of the second half and junior Adam Rodricks scored a third goal in the 72nd minute that proved to be the difference as the Warriors (9-2) held off the Piners (1-9) to clinch a spot in the Shore Conference Tournament.

Lapitzki broke a scoreless deadlock with a goal in the 42nd minute and Farkas extended the lead to 2-0 in the 44th. Rodricks appeared to put the game on ice with his goal with eight minutes to go, but Lakewood answered with a quick response from Jayson Oliva in the 74th minute.

Junior Maceo Manno provided more insurance for Manasquan with a goal in the 76th before Oliva added his second goal of the final six minutes to complete the scoring in the 79th.

Asbury Park 0, Toms River North 0

 

Group 8

Southern 1, No. 7 Brick Memorial 0

Senior Caden Schweigart drilled a 30-yard strike in the first half off a set-up from senior Colton Davis and the Rams (7-3-1) beat the Mustangs (9-4) to win their fourth straight and qualify for the knockout round of the Shore Conference Tournament.

Junior goalkeeper Kyle Sininsky earned the shutout in goal, which included a save on a shot by Brick Memorial leading scorer Nate Stryker after the junior forward skipped behind the Southern back line.

No. 3 Long Branch 6, Pinelands 0

Seniors Thomas Silva and Chris De Oliveira Santos each scored two goals and Silva also added two assists as the Green Wave (8-1-1) clinched a spot in the Shore Conference Tournament by routing the Wildcats (1-8).

De Oliveira Santos also assisted one of Silva’s two goals in the first half, while senior Brandon Mendoza added a goal and two assists for Long Branch. Junior Matheus Lopez scored the other Long Branch goal, which made it 4-0 early in the second half.

Wall 6, Red Bank Catholic 0

Senior Tanner Griffin scored Wall’s first goal, it’s last goal and also assisted the last of his team’s five first-half goals to lead the Crimson Knights (5-5) to a shutout win over the Caseys (4-7-1).

Senior Evan Ker scored the second Wall goal for a 2-0 lead in the 14th minute and senior Dan Mendes scored to extend the lead to 3-0 in the 27th. Junior Shane Womack added a goal in the 33rd and sophomore Chris Knight got into the act with a goal to make it 5-0 off Griffin’s assist.

Non-Division

Toms River South 2, Lacey 1

Sophomore Tristan Arroyo scored the equalizer in the 70th minute and senior Jacob Myers scored the game-winner in the following minute to cap a come-from-behind win for the Indians (9-1-1) over the Lions (6-5) — their eighth straight victory after a 1-1-1 start to the season.

Arroyo volleyed home a cross from senior Shane Gambarony to tie the game, 1-1. In the 71st minute, junior Bain Howe found Myers for the finish on the game-winner.

Lacey grabbed a 1-0 lead in the 10th minute with a goal by sophomore Paul Guerriero off an assist from senior Aiden Schmitt.

Manchester 2, Raritan 1

Senior Nathan Hankins and classmate Josh Rosado each scored in the first eight minutes and the Hawks (5-6) held on to pick up a home victory over the Rockets (3-7). Senior Brayden Kurak and sophomore Colin Degnan provided the assists on the two Manchester goals.

Point Boro 3, New Egypt 0

Seniors Dean Cardia and Doug Walsh scored scored a goal and dished out an assist as the Panthers (4-6-1) rolled to a win over the Warriors (3-7).

Senior Jake Greene opened the scoring in the 23rd minute off a pass from classmate Joe Doles. Cardia then struck in the 48th minute off a feed from Walsh and returned the favor by assisting Walsh’s goal in the 57th. Senior Logan Forte picked up his second straight clean sheet in goal.
