Point Boro 2, Freehold Boro 0

Sophomore Ben Scott scored off a pass from senior Jake Greene in the seventh minute and complete a brace midway through the second half off a feed from senior Alberto Boscolo-Cegion to lead the Panthers (8-6-1) to a win over the Colonials (6-9) that clinches Point Boro the final third-place spot in the Shore Conference Tournament.

Senior Logan Forte manned the goal to secure his sixth clean sheet of the season for the Panthers, who extended their Shore-Conference-leading winning streak to seven.

 

Non-Division

Long Branch 3, New Egypt 0

Senior Thomas Silva kicked off the scoring and assisted the second of two goals by classmate Chris De Oliveira Santos, leading the Green Wave (10-2-1) to a shutout win over the Warriors (4-9). Silva scored off a pass from senior Brandon Mendoza and De Oliveira Santos extended the lead to 2-0 before halftime off an assist from sophomore Carlos Rodas.

No. 7 Holmdel 5, Matawan 2

Senior Dom Poli scored two goals and junior Lucas Nobrega added one to go with three assists as the Hornets (8-4-1) overpowered the Huskies (5-10) for a win on Senior Day.

Nobrega assisted each of the first two goals of the game, the first of which came from senior Connor Paul. Poli then scored the first of his two consecutive goals off a pass from Nobrega and added another tally before halftime off a set-up by junior Eric Han.

Senior Luke Farrugia knocked in a corner kick by Nobrega to extend the lead to 4-0 early in the second half and Nobrega capped the scoring by finishing a goal for himself.

Junior Ryan Hart scored on a free kick and assisted a goal by classmate Irgi Gjino — both in the first half — to lead the Matawan attack.

 

Non-Conference

Shore 4, South River 1

Junior Silvio Pessoa assisted goals by senior Cooper Attaway and junior Michael Ilvento and the Blue Devils (8-5-1)  rolled to a win over the Rams (5-8). Attaway’s goal got Shore on the board and Ilvento scored Shore’s third goal.

Sophomore Bryan Silveira and senior Finn Murray each added a goal, with Murray’s goal marking the first of his varsity career.

No. 1 CBA 3, Bergen Catholic 2

Senior James Brady scored on an overhead volley a minute before halftime and fellow senior Charlie Messano headed in a cross from classmate Nick Silva near the midway point of the second half to account for the deciding goals in the Colts’ (11-1-4) win over the Crusaders (9-3-1).

After falling in a 1-0 hole four minutes into the match, CBA drew even in the 31st on a header by senior Ryan Asadi off a cross from senior Will Dreschler. Brady gave CBA the lead in the 39th with his clinical finish off a touch from junior John Little and the Colts surged ahead, 3-1, on Messano’s header in the 57th.

Toms River North 2, Notre Dame 2

Junior goalkeeper Gavin Stryker picked up two assists on long punts, sparking the Mariners (4-6-5) to a come-from-behind win over the Irish (11-1-2) after trailing, 2-0, at halftime to the one-loss hosts. Junior Manuele Lubrano ran down the first of Stryker assists to cut the deficit to 2-1, then senior Josh Girtain finished the second long ball from Stryker to level the score, 2-2.
