CBA converted penalty kicks in both the second and 80th minutes, with senior Will Dreschler burying the game-winner with 58 seconds left to send the Colts (3-1-2, 2-0-0) home with a hard-fought win over the Bulldogs (2-2-1, 1-2-0).
Senior James Brady opened the scoring with a penalty kick in the second minute and Rumson leveled the score in the 32nd by converting an opportunity off a corner kick. Senior Bobby Tamashunas knocked in a corner-kick service by Bobby Quaglia to pull the Bulldogs even before the second penalty of the game denied their bid for a second straight win over CBA. Rumson defeated the Colts, 1-0, in the 2025 regular season.
Class A Central
Shore 3, No. 5 Ocean 1
Junior Mike Ilvento scored two goals and assisted another by sophomore Bryan Barbosa to lead the Blue Devils (3-2, 1-1) to a statement win over the previously-unbeaten Spartans (4-1, 1-1), which scored four goals in each of its four wins to open the season.
Ilvento opened the scoring in the sixth minute off an assist from classmate Shane Sullivan, then assisted Barbosa on a 27th-minute goal that proved to be the game-winner. Ilvento later capped the scoring with an Olimpico in the 76th minute.
Sophomore Connor Turchyn scored his first career goal to account for Ocean’s scoring.
Class A South
Toms River East 3, Point Boro 1
Senior Aiden Reis assisted a goal by junior Samuel Los in the sixth minute, then scored a goal of his own in the 20th to set the course for a Raiders (4-0, 2-0) win over the Panthers (1-3, 0-2) that continues an unbeaten start.
Sophomore Brennen Hutton capped Toms River East’s scoring in the 32nd minute off a pass from junior Drew Pereira.

Class B Central
Red Bank Catholic 4, Henry Hudson 3
The Caseys (3-1-1, 2-0) scored three unanswered goals in the second half, capped by the game-winner junior Jack Denver off a feed from Luke Howarth to seal a come-from-behind win for RBC over the Admirals (0-2, 0-2).
Henry Hudson jumped out to a 3-1 lead on a first-half hat trick by freshman Dylan Luby-Meier. Junior Nick Salinas then ignited RBC the comeback with a goal that cut Henry Hudson’s lead to 3-2 off a pass from classmate Gavin Biasi. Sophomore James Main then scored the equalizer before Denver delivered the game-winner.
Senior Teagan McCarthy scored the first Red Bank Catholic goal, which cut Henry Hudson’s lead to 2-1 during the first half before Luby-Meier sent the Admirals to the break with a 3-1 lead with his third goal of the match.
Class C South
Barnegat 1, Pinelands 0
Senior Riley Stolte knocked in a free kick from classmate Leo Chamorro in the 78th minute and the Bengals (3-3, 1-1) won a thriller over the Wildcats (1-4, 0-2).
