Class A North

No. 2 CBA 2, No. 10 Holmdel 0

Senior James Brady scored twice in the second half and the Colts (6-1-2, 3-0-0) rode a strong final 40 minutes to a win over the Hornets (4-2-1, 1-1-1) — their sixth straight victory after starting the season 0-1-2.

Brady redirected a free kick by senior Will Dreschler into the goal for the opening scoring in the 53rd minute and struck again with a tap-in during the 58th to stretch the Colts lead to 2-0. Sophomore Joe Guastella split two Holmdel defenders and forced a shot past Holmdel goalkeeper Ryan Frigola after the junior goalkeeper slowed it down. Brady slipped in behind Frigola and walked in the second goal of the game.

Holmdel junior Lucas Nobrega rang the left post with a shot during the 12th minute but did not threaten again until the final four minutes. In those final minutes, CBA junior goalkeeper Brady Lepore made three sprawling saves to preserve the shutout.

Class A Central

No. 7 Manasquan 5, Middletown North 0

Senior Landon Herbert and sophomore Noah Matuch were two of five different Manasquan goal-scorers and also dished out an assist apiece to power the Warriors (6-1, 3-0) to a one-sided win over the Lions (0-7-1, 0-2-1).

Senior Cruz Farkas, sophomore Travis Levy and senior Nate Paterno each added a goal in the victory.

Wall 1, No. 8 Middletown South 0

Sophomore Luke Harmon scored the game-winning goal in the 66th minute off a pass from senior Luca Rulli and the Crimson Knights (4-2, 2-1) held on for a shutout win over the Eagles (4-3, 2-2), with senior Harrison Novick earning the shutout in net.

St. John Vianney 1, Shore 1

St. John Vianney senior Ethan Bellone scored the tying goal in the 73rd minute off a pass from senior Cyril Azer and the Lancers (2-3-3, 0-2-2) salvaged a draw on the road vs. the Blue Devils (5-3-1, 2-1-1).

Shore took the lead on a goal by sophomore Bryan Barbosa off a pass from junior Silvio Pessoa.

 

Class A South

Lacey 3, Southern 1

Senior Tanner Grozinski had a hand in all three goals by Lacey as the Lions (4-4, 2-2) finished off a road win over the Rams (3-3-1, 1-2-1).

Grozinski drew a foul inside the box in the 21st minute, setting up fellow senior Aiden Schmitt for the penalty kick that gave Lacey the lead. Minutes later, Grozinski beat his defender to the end-line and crossed the ball to the front of the goal, where sophomore Logan Hope tapped it in for a 2-0 lead.

With Southern searching for an equalizer late in the second half, Grozinski capped the scoring by running onto a pass from senior John Heckel and finishing his first goal of the game in the 75th.

Central 2, Point Boro 1

Junior Julian Lenovich buried a 20-yard strike to the lower left of the goal for the game-winner in the 44th minute as the Golden Eagles (4-3, 2-2) edged the Panthers (1-6-1, 0-3-1).

Senior Landon Kavanagh scored the first Central goal on a penalty kick in the first half after senior Danny Palheta drew a foul on a breakaway 20 minutes into the match. Point Boro equalized before the half on a header by senior Jake Greene off a ball from junior C.J. Hagberg.

No. 5 Toms River East 2, Toms River North 0

Senior Aiden Reis broke a scoreless tie with a goal in the 57th minute and set up a penalty kick for junior Samuel Los in the 77th and the Raiders (8-0, 4-0) blanked the Mariners (1-5-3, 1-1-2) to clinch the outright Class A South championship for the first time since 2011 while also remaining perfect on the season.

Junior Malcolm Smith found Reis up the right flank and Reis chipped the ball over junior Gavin Stryker for the game’s first goal. In the 77th, senior Aiden Corapi played the ball through to Reis, who was taken out in the box as he got to the ball with only the net in front of him. Los struck his penalty kick off the bottom of the crossbar and over the end-line for the capper.

Senior goalkeeper Mike Moore made a point-blank save in the 63rd minute on the way to the shutout.

 

Class B North

Red Bank 6, Raritan 3

Senior Alex Salvo scored the second of his two goals in the first minute of the second half to break a 2-2 deadlock and the Bucs (4-5-1, 3-2-0) went on to score three more unanswered goals to pull away with a win over the Rockets (3-4, 1-2).

Junior Brian Garcia assisted an equalizer by senior Gus Kowalczyk that made it 1-1 in the 20th minute and Salvo scored a minute later to give Red Bank its first lead. Garcia then assisted the go-ahead goal by Salvo early in the second half and followed up with the goal that proved to be the game-winner in the 55th.

Sophomore Max Fishbein and senior Micah Eagles scored the last two Red Bank goals, which came a minute apart in the 71st and 72nd minutes. Kowalczyk assisted the sixth and final Red Bank goal, which Eagles finished.

Senior Owen Brackett opened the scoring in the 15th minute and scored the equalizer in the 39th to get Raritan to halftime even at 2-2. Junior James Thorn capped the scoring in the 78th minute.

 

Class B Central

Neptune 6, Henry Hudson 0

Senior Harin Gutierrez Moreno posted a hat trick while also handing out an assist as the Scarlet Fliers (2-4, 2-2) rolled to a win over the Admirals (0-4, 0-4).

Junior Dominic O’Neill added a goal and an assist, with juniors Hunter Reynolds and C.J. Hankins each adding a goal. Senior Joey Taylor also dished out three assists for Neptune.

Monmouth 2, Keyport 1

Senior Luca Tvrdik and freshman Casey Simon each scored a goal in the first half and the Falcons (2-6, 2-1) held on to pick up the victory over the Red Raiders (1-5, 0-5).

Senior Danny Metrick scored in the final 10 minutes to keep Keyport in the game.

Ranney 6, Red Bank Catholic 0

Senior Eddie Magherini recorded his third hat trick in the last four games to run his Shore-leading goal total to 16 and the Panthers (6-1, 3-0) slammed the Caseys (4-3-1, 3-1-0) for their sixth consecutive win.

Senior Tylor Yang assisted three goals to go with a goal of his own, while sophomore Braden Morin and junior Juan Torres each notched a goal for Ranney.

 

Class B South

Jackson 3, Lakewood 0

Senior Collin Williams broke open the scoring in the first half and senior starting goalkeeper Logan Schlenk added two goals in the second half to lift the Jaguars (7-3, 2-2) to a win over the Piners (1-6, 0-4).

Williams struck off of a pass from junior Serhii Hryhoriak in the 28th minute and Schlenk scored the first of his two goals in the 50th off a feed from senior Andres Reyes. Schlenk finished off the scoring in the 63rd, with freshman Mike Titovich supplying the assist.

No. 6 Brick Memorial 5, Manchester 1

Junior Nate Stryker piled up a hat trick and the Mustangs (6-3, 4-0) erupted for four second-half goals to turn a tie game at halftime into a win over the Hawks (3-5, 1-3) that clinches Brick Memorial no worse than a share of a division title for the second straight year.

Sophomore Matt Heptig and senior Sebastian Millan each added a goal and an assist for Brick Memorial, which can clinch the outright championship in Class B South with a win or draw vs. Point Beach on Saturday.

Toms River South 6, Point Beach 0

Senior Shane Gambarony scored two goals and assisted another — all in the final 12 minutes of the first half — and the Indians (5-1-1, 3-1-0) overwhelmed the Garnet Gulls (6-2, 2-2).

Gambarony made it 2-0 in the 28th minute with a goal off a feed from fellow senior Karsin Migliori, then scored again in the 35th off a set-up by senior Brody Robillard. Gambarony then assisted a goal by Migliori in the 37th to send Toms River South to the half with a 4-0 lead.

Senior Owen Beneciuk opened the scoring with a goal in the 10th minute off a cross from freshman Liam Browne. Sophomore Giuseppe Raso scored the first goal of the second half, which he finished off a pass from Beneciuk in the 59th. Senior Omar Reyes Torres ended the game with a goal in the 71st off an assist from senior Jacob Myers.

 

Class C South

Brick 3, New Egypt 1

Seniors Carl Loffredo and Gianno Godenzi each scored a goal and dealt out an assist to lead the Green Dragons (5-2, 4-0) over the Warriors (3-5, 2-1) to claim the outright Class C South championship. Freshman Jerry Leonor added the third goal for Brick.

Barnegat 5, Donovan Catholic 0

Junior Nelson Argueta-Cedillos scored the first two goals of his varsity career within a four-minute span late in the first half and the Bengals (5-3, 2-1) blew the game open in the second half to nail down a shutout win over the Griffins (1-5, 0-3).

Senior Aiden O’Halloran set up the first goal in the 31st minute with a shot that banged off the post and to the feet of Argueta-Cedillos. O’Halloran then scored 12 seconds into the second half off a pass from junior Matt Arbasetti for a 3-0 lead.

Sophomore Vincent Santos scored his first varsity goal in the 58th to extend the Barnegat lead to 4-0 and senior Leo Chamorro — who set up the second goal by Argueta-Cedillos with a corner kick into the box — capped the scoring in the 66th.

 

Non-Division

Ocean 6, St. Rose 0

Senior Brandon Cosentino and junior Connor Shaw each scored a pair of goals and the Spartans (5-3) coasted to a win over the Purple Roses (0-8-1).

Cosentino also added an assist, while junior Brandon Johnson and senior Jonathan Williams each contributed two assists. Junior Nic Critelli and sophomore Joey Gervolino each scored a goal for Ocean as well.
