Howell 3, Red Bank 1
Senior Dylan Johansen assisted a second-half goal by classmate Andrew Tabora-Hernandez, then converted a penalty kick to cap the scoring as the Rebels (2-1) topped the Bucs (1-3-1).
Sophomore Tom Beurskens scored Howell’s first goal, which came off an assist by junior Andrew Holmes. Senior Alex Salvo delivered Red Bank’s goal in the second half.
No. 4 Middletown South 3, No. 10 Lacey 2 (OT)
A year after squandering a 2-0 deficit at Lacey in the Shore Conference Tournament round of 16, the Eagles (3-0) returned the favor by rallying from a two-goal deficit to upend the host Lions (1-3) in overtime.
Sophomore Connor Paul scored his sixth goal in three games on a free kick in the 75th minute that tied the game, 1-1. In the fifth minute of overtime, senior Brett Denery pushed up from his outside back position and headed in a corner kick by classmate Luke Strada to win the game.
Senior Jorge Xmil Carazzno began the comeback in the 35th minute by converting a penalty kick that sliced the Lacey lead to 2-1.
Lacey jumped out to a 2-0 advantage on two goals by senior Tanner Grozinski in the first 20 minutes.
Last season, Middletown South took a 2-0 lead into the second half at Lacey, only for the Lions to rally to tie the game in the final seconds of regulation and win the game on penalty kicks.
Group 2
No. 1 Colts Neck 3, Brick 0
Junior Sean Moore scored two goals to tie his brother, Kyle, with 55 for his career and the Cougars (3-0) blanked the Green Dragons (1-2) to continue their unbeaten start to the season.
Both of Moore’s goals came in the second half after senior Gabe Kruglyansky scored eight minutes into the match by heading in a corner kick from classmate Ben Kazani. In the 49th minute, Moore and senior C.J. Collins worked a give-and-go that covered nearly half the field, with Moore playing the ball to Collins for the run up the left side and eventually getting it back for the finish and a 2-0 lead.
Moore capped the scoring in the 55th minute off a through-ball from junior outside back Zach Bernstein.
Freehold Twp. 2, Shore 1
Senior Caine Massey scored the game-winning goal in the 75th minute and the Patriots (1-1-1) prevailed with a win over the Blue Devils (2-2).
Shore pulled even in the 63rd minute, with sophomore Bryan Barbosa converting a pass from classmate Bryan Silveira for the equalizer. In the 75th, senior Gino Castaneda sent a long pass forward to Massey, who ran it down and finished the tie-breaker.
Freehold Township struck first with a penalty kick by senior Gabe Bormolini early in the second half.
Group 3
Toms River East 4, Manchester 0
Junior Samuel Los scored both second-half goals for Toms River East and the Raiders (3-0) blanked the Hawks (2-2) to continue their perfect start to the season.
Senior Aiden Reis assisted the first goal by Los in the 23rd minute, then scored six minutes into the second half on the first of two second-half assists by sophomore Brennen Hutton. Junior Ayden Salazar scored the second goal of the second half in the 64th minute.
No. 2 CBA 5, Matawan 3
Sophomore Joe Guastella scored a first-half goal and set up both the tying and go-ahead goals in the second half to help the Colts (2-1-2) avoid an upset at the hands of the Huskies (1-4).
Senior Gavin Heyward scored off a rebound in the 44th minute to give Matawan a 3-2 lead — its second one-goal lead of the game. CBA pulled even in the 56th, when Guastella found senior Will Dreschler for the finish and a 3-3 deadlock.
In the 69th, Guastella slipped a pass to junior Justin Arias, whose initial shot was saved by senior Gavin Veres, only to be followed up by junior Matt Papagni for the finish. Senior Charlie Messano put the game away by heading in a cross by classmate Alec Notaro in the 79th.
CBA jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the seventh minute, when Jack Urbanski knocked in a cross from fellow senior James Brady.
Matawan responded with two goals within a span of four minutes in the 17th and 21st minutes. Junior Nicco Romero scored off a pass from junior Ryan Hart, then assisted a goal by senior Francisco Romero.
Group 4
Central 6, St. Rose 0
Senior Danny Palheta found classmate Landon Kavanaugh in the first minute of the game for the first of his goals and went on to post a goal and two more assists to lead a Golden Eagles (1-2) rout of the Purple Roses (0-3-1).
Junior Julian Lenovich also scored two goals, including the final goal of the game in the 63rd minute. Senior Ilyas Ciltepe added a goal and an assist in the win.
Rumson-Fair Haven 3, Middletown North 2 (OT)
Senior Zack Halpern scored the golden goal in overtime and also assisted one during regulation as the Bulldogs (2-1-1) battle for a road win over the Lions (0-3).
Seniors Bobby Tamashunas and Patrick Huber each scored a goal in regulation for Rumson, while senior Paul Que struck twice for Middletown North as the two teams traded goals over the course of 80 minutes.
Group 5
No. 5 Ocean 4, Jackson 0
Senior Brandon Cosentino scored two goals off two of junior Connor Shaw’s three assists and the Spartans (4-0) coasted to a win over the Jaguars (4-1) to claim victory in a battle of unbeaten teams heading into Wednesday while also scoring four goals for the fourth straight time to open the season.
Cosentino scored the first of three first-half goals by three different Ocean players, collecting a cross from Shaw and burying it to the far right corner of the goal. Senior Lucas Renvoize then found junior Nic Critelli breaking through the back line for a finish and a 2-0 lead in the 36th before Renvoize capped the first-half scoring in the 38th off a pass from Shaw.
Cosentino capped the scoring with a header off a Shaw free kick in the 61st minute.
Holmdel 4, Raritan 0
Junior Lucas Nobrega and senior Dom Poli each scored two goals and the Hornets (2-1) pulled away to beat the Rockets (2-1).
Nobrega scored the lone goal of the first half and junior Ryan Frigiola saved a Raritan penalty kick to keep Holmdel ahead, 1-0. Frigiola parried the attempt off the right post and the officials disallowed Raritan’s follow-up due to contact with both the goalkeeper and the post, according to Raritan coach Greg Casha.
Poli scored in both the 65th and 70th minutes, with Nobrega assisting the first and junior Antonio Zambito finding Poli over the defense for the second. Nobrega capped the scoring in the 76th off a feed from junior Eric Han.
Group 6
No. 3 Manalapan 3, Point Boro 2
Junior Ryan Seybuck scored two goals in the first half and senior Dan Altman’s second-half tally proved to be the difference as the Braves (1-1-1) held on to beat the Panthers (1-2) for their first win.
Seybuck opened the scoring off a feed from Altman, then made it 2-0 off a pass from senior Ethan Lustig. Altman capped the scoring off a pass by Maxim Kazanovich early in the second half for a 3-0 lead.
Senior Dean Cardia got Point Boro on the board midway through the second half and classmate Braeden Moramarco cut the deficit to one goal in the 79th.
No. 7 Manasquan 4, Freehold Boro 0
Junior Adam Rodricks opened the scoring with the lone goal of the first half and senior Cruz Farkas later added a goal and an assist to spark the Warriors (3-0) over the Colonials (2-1) for their third straight win to open the season.
Sophomore Jack Walther pushed the lead to 2-0 off a pass from senior Landon Herbert and sophomore Noah Matuch made it 3-0 off a pass from senior Quinn Juska.

Marlboro 2, St. John Vianney 1 (OT)
Senior Dean Allegretta scored two goals, including the golden goal during the second overtime period off a pass from senior Vinny Pollifrone that delivered the Mustangs (2-1) a win over the Lancers (1-2-1).
Allegretta’s first goal came off a set-up from junior Andrew Freid in the first half. Senior Alex Siniscalchi scored the goal for St. John Vianney.
No. 8 Toms River North 0, Toms River South 0
Toms River South (1-1-1) freshman goalkeeper Connor Starr saved 11 Toms River North (1-2-1) shots and junior counterpart Gavyn Stryker matched him with a 100-minute shutout as the two rivals battled to a scoreless draw.

No. 9 Long Branch 5, Red Bank Catholic 1
Senior Marvin Oyuela and junior Matheus Lopez each scored two goals and the Green Wave (2-0-1) stormed to a win over the Caseys (2-1-1). Senior Brandon Mendoza added a goal and an assist, while senior Joao Dos Santos dealt out two assists in the win.

Freshman Steven Amato broke through with a goal in the first half off a pass from junior Acim Savich and senior goalkeeper Jake Miller turned in an 18-save performance in goal to help the Wildcats (1-3) stun the Mustangs (2-1).
Southern 2, Wall 0
Senior Kyle Schoepfer scored off a pass from senior Jaxson Simon and senior Nick Leiriao headed in a cross from junior David Reyes to give the Rams (2-1) a win over the Crimson Knights (1-2). Junior Kyle Sininsky saved two shots for his first career shutout.

Asbury Park 6, Keyport 1
Junior Brandon Joseph recorded a hat trick and senior Dain Salazar added a brace to carry the scoring effort in a Blue Bishops (2-1, 2-0) win over the Red Raiders (0-2, 0-2). Junior Gustavo Merino added a goal, while sophomore Carlos Valdibia-Marquez and senior Matelson Louisious each assisted two.
