Four players recorded hat tricks in a lopsided win for Neptune (1-0) over Nottingham (0-1). Senior Charlie Curto and Sophomore Charlotte Donaway each recorded 3 goals and 1 assist while Sophomore Claire Browning and Senior Jha’nae LeGrande each recorded 3 goals in the win for the Scarlet Fliers. Senior Eva Sims finished with 1 goal while Sophomore Jessica Jimenez recorded an assist in the win. Pomaah Kumah recorded 3 saves in the win.
Thursday, March 27
Allentown 9, Trinity Hall 8
Trinity Hall (0-1) fell to Allentown (1-0) on an overtime game-winner by Nylah Ladu. Senior Mary Catherine O’Connor recorded 3 goals and 1 assist while Sophomore O’Malley Eldridge and Freshman Lucy Mallgrave added 2 goals each in the loss. Senior Lily Wood also added 1 goal and 2 assists while Senior Bridie Fitzgerald recorded an assist for the Monarchs.
Holmdel 9, Red Bank Catholic 7
A strong third period by Holmdel (1-0) helped the Hornets power past Red Bank Catholic (0-1) for an opening day victory. Senior midfielder Claudia Diaz, Sophomore midfielder Charlotte Wall, Freshman Ryann Buchan, and Senior midfielder Tessa Pinnero each recorded 2 goals in the victory for the Hornets. Junior Avery Dubin also scored 1 goal while Diaz and Buchan each recorded 1 assist. Junior goalie Victoria Imburgia recorded 16 saves in the net.
For the Caseys, Senior Malia D’Alterio and Sophomore Alexandra Rogers each scored 3 goals while Freshman Rylie Bender also added a goal. Rogers, Senior Emma Lowe, and Freshman Valentina Corba each recorded an assist for RBC. Sophomore Cecilia Granatelli recorded 10 saves for the Caseys.
