Manalapan (1-0) defeated Ocean (0-1) behind an offensive explosion from Junior Madison Alcantara and Sophomore Aryelle Stein. Alcantara scored 8 goals and recorded 2 assists while Stein scored 8 goals. Manalapan also received offensive contributions from Junior Charlotte Paulin who scored 3 goals and recorded 1 assist as well as Senior Mollie Saftlas who scored 2 goals and recorded 1 assist. Sophomore Madison Zeleski added 1 goal for the Braves while Freshman Sydney Saftlas added 1 assist.
Junior Maddie Kirchner exploded with 9 goals and 3 assists in the loss for the Spartans.
Toms River South 13, Brick 10
Senior midfielder Madeline Krohn’s 3 goal and 4 assist performance helped Toms River South (1-0) defeat Brick (0-1) on opening day. Krohn was not the only player on Toms River South to finish with a hat trick as Senior Brooke Picca also finished with 3 goals. Junior Kelsey Weatherstone scored 1 goal and recorded 1 assist while Junior Addison Gioia and Freshman Taylor Redgrave also finished with 1 goal each in the win for the Indians.
For the Dragons, Junior Reese Achille scored 6 goals and recorded 1 assist while Junior Madison Lacerda and Sophomore Vienna Skowronski each finished with 2 goals in the loss.
Red Bank 12, Central 2
Junior Chloe Keating guided Red Bank (1-0) past Central (0-1) on opening day. Keating scored 5 goals and recorded 1 assist. Junior Karlie Ruland added 3 goals and 3 assists while Junior Kate Meulener scored 2 goals. Junior Ella Marc-Aurele and Junior Kathleen Deverin also finished with a goal in the win for the Bucs. Junior Goalie Nora Tavares finished with 11 saves.
