(1) Rumson-Fair Haven 14, (8) Haddon Township 7
The Bulldogs (16-4) opened up an 8-1 lead at the end of the first quarter and kept the Hawks (15-5) at bay for the remainder of the game to advance to the sectional semifinals. Senior Kat O’Connor scored a career-high 4 goals and distributed 2 assists. Senior Mia Milkowski and sophomore Chloe Kelly both scored 2 goals and tallied an assist. Seniors Rachel James and Sophie Yocket both scored 2 goals. James also won 12 draw controls. Sophomore Aly Megaw and freshman Becca Newell both scored a goal. Senior Daisen Iwan tallied 2 assists while sophomore Reese Lydon tallied 1 assist. Sophomore goalie Sydney Kiernan turned back 6 shots in the win.
Rumson-Fair Haven will host the winner of fourth-seeded Shore and fifth-seeded Woodstown in a game tentatively scheduled for Thursday.
Non-Public Second Round
(4) Trinity Hall 11, (13) Camden Catholic 8
Stellar offensive performances from sophomores Chiara Donahue and O’Malley Eldridge guided the Monarchs (13-6) past the Irish (11-9) into the state quarterfinals. Donahue finished with 5 goals and 2 assists in addition to forcing 5 turnovers. Eldridge finished with 4 goals and 1 assist. Seniors Bridie Fitzgerald and Mary Catherine O’Connor both scored a goal. Freshman Lyla Lu tallied an assist. Senior goalie Virginia Avery and freshman goalie Anna Pharo both recorded 3 saves in the victory.
Trinity Hall awaits the winner of fifth-seeded Immaculate Heart and twelfth-seeded Morristown-Beard in a game tentatively scheduled for Tuesday.
(2) Pingry 17, (15) Red Bank Catholic 3
The Caseys (12-9) fell to the Big Blue (20-2) who were ranked number 7 overall in the state according to NJ Advance Media heading into the state tournament. Sophomore Alexandra Rogers scored 2 goals in the loss. Senior Molly Fox scored 1 goal.
