Championship
(2) Southern 7, (1) Cherokee 3
A 4 goal and 1 assist effort from senior midfielder Delaney Falk helped the Rams (14-6) conquer the Chiefs (15-7) who had defeated them in the state tournament each of the last three years. Senior attacker Meri Cassidy scored 2 goals. Senior attacker Piper Murray added 1 goal. Senior midfielder Avery Smith and freshman attacker Jayden Georgesen both tallied an assist. South Jersey Group 2
Championship
(1) Allentown 10, (3) Manasquan 6
The Warriors (11-11) battled but fell short against the heavily favored Redbirds (22-3) in a rematch from last year’s sectional final. Junior Ellie Sitar and sophomore Dylan Carnahan both scored 2 goals in the loss. Senior Sophia Evans and sophomore Sarah Sharpe also added a goal. Freshman Olive O’Reilly tallied an assist.
The Warriors rebounded to finish strong as sectional finalists after starting the season 1-5 and playing in a very difficult American Division. They will have to replace four seniors including Sophia Evans who was second on the team in goals. They will return a very strong group of underclassmen including leading scorer Chloe Stevens, Sharpe, Sitar, Carnahan, Sterling Blum, Logan McCarthy, Alexandra Stamos, and more.
South Jersey Group 1
Championship
(1) Rumson-Fair Haven 11, (2) Haddonfield 9
The Bulldogs of Rumson (18-4) held off a stingy effort from the Bulldawgs of Haddonfield (18-4) behind a trio of hat tricks. Seniors Rachel James and Kat O’Connor as well as sophomore Chloe Kelly each finished with 3 goals. Seniors Daisen Iwan and Mia Milkowski also added a goal.
Rumson’s win propelled them back into the state title game for the first time since 2023. The Bulldogs will face Mountain Lakes who was the runner-up the last three seasons including in 2023 when the Bulldogs won the championship. The time and location of the final game is still to be determined.
