Central Jersey Group 4

6-Manalapan 2, 7-Hunterdon Central 0

Sophomore Kayla Sasso scored once in each half and the Braves’ (13-9-1) defense took care of the rest to lead Manalapan past the Red Devils (10-0) and into their third straight sectional final.

Manalapan will travel to face No. 4 seed Monroe in the sectional final on Thursday. The Falcons defeated No. 8 seed Montgomery 4-1 in the other semifinal.

 

 

South Jersey Group 4

1-Central 2, 4-Kingsway 1 (2OT)

Sophomore midfielder Leah DiCillo scored the golden goal with 3:23 left in the second overtime period to send the Golden Eagles (17-3-1) back to the sectional final with a dramatic win over the Dragons (13-7-1).

A Central Regional shot from 20 yards out was deflected and DiCillo won the loose ball at the 10 and snuck a left-footed low shot just inside the right post for the game-winner.

Central will host No. 2 Eastern in the sectional final on Thursday. The Vikings won 2-0 over No. 3 seed Egg Harbor Township in the other semifinal.

 

 

North Jersey Section 2, Group 3

2-Middletown South 4, 3-Summit 3 (OT)

Junior forward Bea Tinoco delivered the game-winning goal in the opening minute of extra time as the Eagles (16-4-1) rallied to force overtime and defeat the Hilltoppers (14-7-2) to advance to their third straight sectional final.

Tinoco scored twice and senior midfielder Grace Gironda tallied a goal and two assists to lead Middletown South. Senior Riley Bent scored once while freshman goalie Julianna Fiore made eight saves to keep the Eagles within striking distance when they were trailing 2-1 and 3-2 in the second half.

Middletown South will travel to face top-seeded Chatham in the sectional final. The Cougars defeated No. 4 seed Cranford 7-0 in the other semifinal.

 

Central Jersey Group 3

3-Jackson Memorial 0, 2-Brick Memorial 0

Jackson Memorial wins on penalty kicks, 3-1

Senior goalie Gianna Berkley capped a stellar game by making saves in rounds two, three and four in the penalty kick shootout as the Jaguars (9-10-1) knocked off the defending champion Mustangs (10-8-1) to reach the Central Jersey Group 3 final.

Jackson will host fifth-seeded Lawrence in the sectional final after the Cardinals (13-8) stunned top-seeded Hopewell Valley (18-3-2) with two second-half goals in the other semifinal.

 

Central Jersey Group 2

1-Point Boro 2, 5-Delran 1

Junior midfielder Elive Viggiano scored off a pass from senior forward Abby Hannemann with 1:50 left in regulation to send the Panthers (17-2-2) to a dramatic comeback victory over the Bears (16-5-1) and into the sectional final.

Delran took a 1-o lead into halftime on a goal by Mya Jackson before Point Boro scored the equalizer on a strike by senior Gabby Mellet off an assist from Hannemann. Senior goalie Eva Bjorndahl made three saves to backstop another rock-solid performance by the Panthers’ defense. Point Boro has not conceded more than one goal in any game this season and has allowed a Shore Conference-low seven goals.

Point Boro will host No. 2 seed Wall in the sectional final. The Crimson Knights (18-2-1) are the defending champions and defeated Cinnaminson 2-0 in the other semifinal.

Sophomore Megan Farrell scored off a pass from Samantha Brett in the first half and senior Erin Farrell headed in a free kick off the foot of Erynn Richey in the second half to lead the defending champion Crimson Knights (18-2-1) past the Pirates (15-6-2) and back to the sectional final.

 

South Jersey Group 2

2-Haddonfield 2, 11-Barnegat 0

 

Central Jersey Group 1

3-Point Beach 4, 7-Shore 0

Baleigh Johnson, Shelby Brunotte and Katie Kirchner each tallied a goal and an assist and Mackenzie Highland made four saves to post a shutout as the defending-champion Garnet Gulls (13-6) blanked the Blue Devils (10-12-1) to return to the sectional final.

Brunotte gave Point Beach a 1-0 lead in the fourth minute before goals by Johnson (55th minute), Katie Kirchner (68th) and Gabby Kirchner (72nd) put the game away. The Garnet Gulls will travel to top-seeded Metuchen for the sectional final on Thursday.
