Week 7 OIB Ortho Team of the Week: Red Bank Catholic Girls Basketball
Shore Sports Insider is proud to partner with OIB Ortho this winter to present our weekly OIB Ortho Girls Basketball Team of the Week Award, recognizing standout Shore Conference programs for their accomplishments on the court.

The Week 7 recipient of the 2026 OIB Ortho Girls Team of the Week is Red Bank Catholic following a week in which the Caseys defeated Rumson-Fair Haven and St. John Vianney to claim their second consecutive Shore Conference Tournament Championship and eighth in program history.
Senior Addy Nyemchek scored a game-high 18 points to go along with eight rebounds, five steals, and three assists as the Caseys pulled away in the second half to defeat Rumson-Fair Haven 56-29 in the semifinals. Senior guard Katie Liggio added 12 points. Senior guard Daniela Matetsky finished with nine points, six rebounds, four assists, and three steals.
In the championship game, it was senior guard Tessa Liggio who poured in a game-high 21 points to lead the Caseys to a 53-49 win over rival St. John Vianney. Nyemchek added 13 points, seven rebounds, six assists, two blocks, and two steals. Senior forward Sophie Smith finished with 11 points and two blocks.
All eight Shore Conference Tournament titles have been won under head coach Joe Montano. The rich tradition of Shore Conference Tournament success includes titles from the following years: 2000, 2001, 2003, 2006, 2007, 2013, 2025, and 2026.
On Monday, Shore Sports Insider visited practice to present Red Bank Catholic head coach Joe Montano and the team with a commemorative game ball and a $250 Joe Leone’s Italian Specialties Gift Card, courtesy of our partners at Joe Leone’s, for a well-earned team meal.
