Central Jersey Group 3
(1) Westampton Tech 53, (16) Matawan 33
Westampton Tech jumped out to an 18-8 lead at the end of the 1st quarter and kept Matawan at bay for the rest of the game. Senior Mikayla Taylor scored a game-high 17 points for Westampton Tech. Senior Zaira Carballo scored a team-high 9 points in the loss for the Huskies.
(4) Colts Neck 35, (13) Steinert 27
Colts Neck blanked Steinert in the first quarter to jump out to a 13-0 lead and carried that lead into halftime. Steinert outscored Colts Neck 10-4 in the third quarter to get within 7 points, but the Cougars held on to advance into the second round of the CJG3 sectional. Freshman Julianna Jasina scored a game-high 13 points for Colts Neck. Colts Neck will host the 5th seed Neptune on Saturday at 11 a.m.
(10) Middletown North 43, (7) Brick Township 35
Middletown North battled back two times in the first half, first down 5-0 to start the game, then 15-9 in the third quarter, but were able to make it one point deficit at halftime. Junior Danielle Gonzalez came off the bench to lead the Lions with a game-high 15 points and grabbed 8 rebounds.

Karleigh Aber scored all 8 of her points in the third quarter to help Middletown North outscore Brick Township 14-5. Aber also grabbed 15 rebounds in the game including 4 offensive rebounds in the quarter. The Lion guards were able to get inside in the second half led by Senior Jayden Yerves scoring 7 of her 10 points in the second half.
Brick Township were led by their two seniors, Riley Nausedas and CiCi Weatherspool. Nausedas finished with a team-high 13 points and Weatherspool had 8 points and 5 rebounds.
(8) Jackson Memorial 63, (9) Northern Burlington 53
In the final home game in the school’s history, Jackson Memorial jumped out to a 17-9 lead in the first quarter and built a 35-22 lead at halftime to beat Northern Burlington and advance into the second round of the CJG3 sectional. Sophomore Cali Brown scored a game-high 23 points and Kaylee Ambos added 12 points for the Jaguars. Junior Isabella Finer played hard on both sides of the floor, scoring 9 points, grabbing 7 rebounds and had 4 steals for Jackson Memorial. Jackson Memorial will travel to top seed Westampton Tech on Saturday.
(5) Neptune 61, (12) Hopewell Valley 30
Leading by 10 at halftime, Neptune outscored Hopewell Valley 24-9 in the third quarter to seal the game and advance into the second round of CJG3. Senior Bre Evans scored a game-high 12 points and Majiah Quarles added 10 points to lead Neptune. Neptune will travel to face the No. 4 seed Colts Neck on Saturday.
(2) Red Bank Regional 48, (15) Brick Memorial 21
Red Bank Regional jumped out to a 15-1 lead in the first quarter and added to their lead every quarter to advance into the second round of CJG3 sectional. Senior Caroline Polloway scored a game-high 9 points and three players added 6 points each. Junior Liana Lopena scored a team-high 7 points for the Mustangs. RBR will host the No. 10 seed Middletown North on Saturday at 12 p.m.
(6) Middletown South 53, (11) Freehold Boro 43
Trailing early in the first quarter, Middletown South turned it around to take a 26-24 lead at halftime and closed the game out by outscoring Freehold Boro 18-13 in the fourth quarter to advance into the second round of CJG3 sectional. Senior Amanda MacGregor scored a team-high 15 points and Ava Loucopoulos added 12 points for Middletown South. Senior Sayuri Penaranda scored a team-high 15 points and Christina Sikaras added 13 points for the Colonials. Middletown South will play the winner of the Ewing/Allentown game on Saturday.
Central Jersey Group 1
(5) Shore Regional 78, (12) Highland Park 32
The Blue Devils started the game firing, outscoring Highland Park 29-9 in the first quarter, followed by a 24-8 second quarter. Senior Reese Fiore scored a game-high 21 points and Ava Coyle knocked down four 3-pointers to finish with 20 points for Shore. Shore will travel to No. 4 Middlesex on Saturday. Shore defeated Middlesex last season in the CJG1 final to win their third straight title.
(9) Point Beach 48, (8) Keansburg 34
South Jersey Group 3
(8) Timber Creek 61, (9) Lacey 51
Lacey fell to Timber Creek despite a strong 4th quarter effort to conclude their season. Timber Creek led 49-31 at the end of the 3rd quarter before the Lions managed to close the final deficit to 10 points. Senior Reece Paget put together an admirable performance scoring a team-high 20 points and grabbing 20 rebounds while Junior Brooklynn Bell added 17 points and 10 rebounds in the loss.
(4) Toms River East 35, (13) Delsea 17
Leading 11-10 at halftime, TRE outscored Delsea 12-3 in the third quarter and held them to 7 points in the second half. Senior Grace Crowley scored a game-high 10 points for the Raiders. Kacey Brilies and Brooke Gathman both added 6 points for TRE. TRE will host No. 5 Clearview on Saturday in the SJG3 second round.
(3) Absegami 52, (14) Toms River South 40
South Jersey Group 1
(2) Palmyra 40, (15) New Egypt 35
New Egypt’s first season in the Shore Conference came to end tonight in the SJG1 opening round. The Warriors went down in the first half 21-13, but tried to battle back in the second half. Junior Olivia Stillwell finished with a game-high 16 points to lead New Egypt. Stillwell had a great season for the Warriors, scoring 30 or more points in two games and finished with 15.5 PPG on the season.
