Semifinal
(1) Manasquan 59, (5) Delaware Valley 33
Manasquan jumped out to a 25-4 lead at the end of the 1st quarter and coasted to victory over Delaware Valley. Senior Shea Donnelly led a balanced scoring effort with 13 points while Senior Grace Love added 11 points in the win for the Warriors. Manasquan will be seeking their 2nd straight sectional title, this one against Rumson-Fair Haven on Saturday.
(2) Rumson-Fair Haven 49, (11) Wall 27
A 19 point performance from Senior Sylvie Notine helped lift Rumson-Fair Haven past Wall and into the Sectional Final. Rumson held a 26-20 halftime lead before putting together a superb 2nd half defensive effort to hold Wall to just 7 points in the entirety of the 2nd half. Notine’s 19 points included three 3-pointers and a perfect 4 for 4 from the free throw line. Junior Erin Reid added 14 points while Senior Annabelle Costello chipped in 8 points in the win for the Bulldogs. Sophomore Ashlyn Holobinko scored a team-high 7 points in the loss for the Crimson Knights. Rumson-Fair Haven will travel to Manasquan on Saturday in the Central Jersey Group 2 Final. The Bulldogs will look to avenge last season’s state playoff defeat at the hands of the Warriors.
South Jersey Group 4
Semifinal
(2) Cherokee 39, (3) Howell 22
Howell fell behind 25-12 at the half and could never get their footing against Cherokee. Senior Kiera McKown scored a team-high 7 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in the loss for the Rebels. Howell finished their season with a 22-7 record.
South Jersey Group 2
Semifinal
(1) Middle Township 59, (4) Barnegat 45
(3) Haddon Heights 55, (7) Manchester 53
A 38 point performance from Sophomore Emma Harris enabled Haddon Heights to squeak past Manchester into the South Jersey Group 2 Final. The next highest scorer on Haddon Heights finished with 6 points. Sophomore Madeline Nolan finished with a team-high 17 points while Freshman Jesse Sarana added 13 points and Freshman Savannah Jackson chipped in 10 points in the loss for the Hawks. Manchester finished with a 19-9 record on the season.
