Junior Liam Killea scored 13 of his game-high 16 points in the second half and the Crimson Knights closed out the Lions to win their first ever championship in the WOBM Christmas Classic.
Senior Brian McKenna scored all eight of his points in the second quarter and earned Tournament MVP honors. Wall grabbed the lead for good midway through the second quarter, which senior Tom Ekberg closed out with a tip-in to put Wall ahead, 23-17, heading to the locker room. Ekberg finished with eight points and All-Tournament Team selection Demitri Tu chipped in six points.
Sophomore Nate Tyburczy led Middletown North with 13 points and Wall held Lions leading scorer Colin Byrne to eight points.
Jim Ruhnke Bracket
(1) Manasquan 30, (2) Central 28
Sophomore Logan Cleveland scored as time expired and the Warriors fought off a fourth-quarter comeback by the Golden Eagles to win the WOBM Christmas Classic Ruhnke Bracket.
Cleveland finished with eight points and eight rebounds and capped the thrilling finish by laying in the winning basket off a shovel from junior Jack O’Reilly as the final seconds ticked away.

Central rallied from a 28-17 deficit during the fourth quarter and held Manasquan scoreless in the quarter until the clock expired. Manasquan senior Brandon Kunz led a defensive effort that held Golden Eagles leading scorer Jaycen Santucci to two points on no field goals through three quarters, but Santucci delivered late with six points in the fourth — including the game-tying basket along the baseline with 27 seconds left.

Santucci finished with eight points and four rebounds, while senior Aidan Graham led Central with 11 points and two steals.
Sophomore Rey Weinseimer led Manasquan with 10 points and senior Griffin Linstra capped his tournament MVP performance with eight points, four rebounds, four assists and three steals.

(9) Freehold Twp. 70, (11) Manchester 48
Sophomore Jake Schutzel scored 20 points and the Patriots rode 11 different scorers to a third-place win over the Hawks. Sophomore Cole Gerigk added nine points to lead the balanced attack in support of Schultzel.
Senior Aidan Lunn matched Shultzel with 20 points to lead Manchester.

(6) Colts Neck 51, (4) Donovan Catholic 49 (OT)
Senior Lukas Sloane scored eight of his game-high 14 points in the fourth quarter and the Cougars rallied to send the game to overtime and won in during the extra session to take third place in the 2024 WOBM Ruhnke Bracket.
Sophomore Nate Sloane chipped in 12 points, while seniors Bryce Belcher and Dan Buoncore each contributed nine, with Buoncore hitting a key three-pointer in overtime.
Juniors Kai Pritchard and Pat Gallo each scored 11 points to lead Donovan Catholic, with Pritchard scoring nine of his points in the fourth quarter. Senior Ryan Jacobs threw in 10 points in the loss.

At Red Bank
Championship
(1) Red Bank 65, (2) Freehold Boro 57
Senior Ryan Fisher scored a game-high 28 points behind five three-pointers and the Bucs rode a strong finish to the first half and an even stronger start to the second to a revenge win over the Colonials.
The victory gives Red Bank its second straight Buc Classic championship and serves as a measure of payback for its loss to Freehold Boro in last February’s NJSIAA Central Jersey Group III championship game — also played in Red Bank Regional’s gym.
Senior Zayier Dean added 13 points, classmate Anthony Moore pitched in 10 points and sophomore Justin Valentino threw in eight for Red Bank, which opened the third quarter with an 15-0 run that turned a one-point lead into a 39-23 advantage. Fisher scored 16 of his points during the third and 11 during the 15-0 run.
Senior Brian Tassey led Freehold Boro with 27 points, seven rebounds and two blocked shots. Junior Damier Lester added 11 points and junior Mike Cush netted nine on three three-pointers for Freehold Boro, which pulled within five points twice in the final two minutes but could not get closer.
Third Place Game
(3) Ranney 74, (5) Hightstown 64 (OT)
Senior MeSean Williams and junior Shaan Nayar combined for 13 points in overtime and the Panthers closed out a win over the Rams to take third place at the Buc Classic.
Nayar finished with 24 points to lead the way, while Williams scored 17 of his 21 points after halftime to go with four assists and seven steals. Sophomore Brody Mauro pitched in 10 points, 14 rebounds, four assists and two blocked shots and senior Justin Buck contributed 12 points, eight rebounds and three steals for Ranney.
The Panthers connected on 12 three-pointers in the game, led by Nayar with five and Buck with four.
Fifth Place Game
(4) East Brunswick 75, (7) Marlboro 64
Sophomore Nolan Gong scored 24 points to lead Marlboro, but Matt Mikulka bested him with 31 to lead the Bears to a win over the Mustangs in the fifth-place game.
Senior Dan Crasto added 15 points and junior Christian Elmasri chipped in 11 for Marlboro.
Seventh Place Game
(6) Old Bridge 71, (8) Long Branch 39
Josh Da Cruz scored 14 points to lead Long Branch, but the Green Wave could not keep up with the Knights.

Shore 58, Lacey 36
Junior Andrew Barham scored a game-high 22 points and the Blue Devils closed out a Jack DuBois Tournament championship by routing the Lions while also remaining unbeaten heading into 2025.
Senior Bryce Crowe chipped in 13 points for Shore, while senior Jon Stabile added 18 points and 13 rebounds to lead Lacey.
Consolation
Academy Charter 70, Asbury Park 56
Dante Lyons scored a tournament best 35 points to lead Academy Charter to a consolation win over the Blue Bishops. Ny’John Kirkpatrick led Asbury Park with 21 points.

Florence 62, Jackson Liberty 60
Sophomore Aidan Kelly poured in a game-high 25 points to go with nine steals but his scoring outburst was not enough to help the Lions (1-2) overcome a balanced overall effort by the Flashes (2-2), who won on a tip-in at the buzzer.
Leaire Williams scored 14 points to lead Florence, which survived a Jackson Liberty comeback that erased a 20-point deficit heading into the fourth quarter.
Point Boro 62, Nottingham 38
Sophomore Hunter Hynes scored a game-high 18 points and senior Drew Cardia scored eight of his 17 points in the first quarter to pace the unbeaten Panthers (5-0) to a win over the Northstars (4-2).
Seniors Hudson Griffin and Nick Kowalewski each added eight points for Point Boro, which entered Monday as one of four remaining unbeaten teams in the Shore Conference (Red Bank, Central, Shore)

Senior Kevin Pikiell scored a game-high 21 points, but the Colts fell to the Crusaders in the third-place game. Junior Connor Andree added 10 points and senior Nick Lane threw in eight for CBA.

Matawan senior Jayden Elijah matched Braeden Hoiberg with a game-high 18 points, but the Huskies could not muster the scoring to keep up with the Falcons in the championship game. Senior Amir Martinez added 11 points for Matawan, which got just eight points outside of Elijah and Martinez.
