Class A North

No. 8 Colts Neck 53, Freehold Twp. 34

Senior Lukas Sloan scored 11 of his game-high 15 points in the first half and the Cougars (5-4, 2-1) cruised to a road win over the Patriots (4-6, 1-3) behind a strong second quarter.

Senior Dan Buoncore added 10 points and classmates Bryce Belcher and Jack Fried chipped in nine apiece for Colts Neck, which outscored Freehold Township, 21-10, during the second quarter to open up a 29-18 lead at halftime.

Sophomore Jake Schultzel scored nine points and senior Jordan Dulnuan poured in eight to lead Freehold Township.

No. 10 Ranney 67, Marlboro 61

Junior Shaan Nayar scored 20 points and hit four of Ranney’s 13 three-pointers as the Panthers (7-2, 3-1) shot their way past the Mustangs (4-8, 1-3) on the road.

Senior MeSean Williams did not get in on the three-point frenzy, but still contributed 15 points in the win. Senior Justin Buck also buried four threes for 12 points and sophomores Alex Heyser (eight points) and Andrew Mardahaev (six) each knocked down a pair of threes for Ranney, which played without 6-foot-4 sophomore Brody Mauro. After suffering an ankle injury earlier in the week vs. Manalapan, Mauro is out indefinitely, according to Ranney coach Tahj Holden.

Sophomore Dylan McEwan led all scorers with a career-high 26 points and classmate Nolan Gong added 13 to lead Marlboro.

 

Class B North

No. 7 Freehold Boro 67, Ocean 55

Senior Brian Tassey racked up 22 points, seven rebounds, five assists and three blocked shots in another all-around performance that keyed the Colonials (9-5, 3-0) to a win, this time over the Spartans (2-10, 2-2).

Senior Aidan Hamlin-Woolfolk added 15 points and seven rebounds and junior Damier Lester chipped in 12 points for Freehold Boro, which jumped out to a 17-7 lead after one quarter and withstood a 22-point third quarter by Ocean. Senior Qua’Mir Everett also contributed nine points, three assists and two blocks in the win.

Junior Aidan Saint Louis carried Ocean with a game-high 33 points.

Monmouth 75, Asbury Park 41

Junior Michael Griffin drained six three-pointers to reach a game-high 20 points and the Falcons (2-9, 2-2) soared to a road win over the Blue Bishops (0-10, 0-3).

Sophomore Javon Bowles added 17 points for Monmouth. Jason Whittaker led Asbury Park with 15 points and teammate Ny’John Kirkpatrick chipped in 14 in the loss.

 

Class B Coastal

Matawan 75, Keansburg 38

Junior Ben Morales led a balanced offensive performance by Matawan with 17 points and the Huskies (5-8, 2-2) coasted to a win over the Titans (5-7, 0-4).

Senior Amir Martinez, junior Daamir Darby and freshman Cayson Williams each scored nine points for Matawan, which had 11 different players contribute to the scoring effort.

One of those players was 6-foot-7 senior Jayden Elijah, who scored the 1,000th point of his high-school career in his final game at Matawan. Elijah is set to play football at Rutgers and will enroll early, as reported by NJ.com.

Junior A’Son Young scored 14 points and Jy’Zier Wynn threw in 12 to lead Keansburg.

Raritan 61, Keyport 31

Junior Ian Mullan scored 17 points to go with five rebounds and three assists, leading the Rockets (6-6, 3-1) to a convincing win over a Red Raiders (9-3, 2-2) team that entered Friday with six wins in its last seven games.

Senior Sean Burnett pitched in 15 points and seven rebounds and classmate Alan Warren contributed six points, 10 rebounds and three assists for Raritan.

 

Non-Division

Toms River East 63, Lakewood 42

Freshman Brady Gillen pumped in 26 points and pulled in seven rebounds as the Raiders (4-7) rolled to a win over the Piners (2-5).

Senior Mason Clinton chipped in 17 points and six assists and sophomore Chase Ballie contributed eight points and three steals for Toms River East. Junior Ronny Cuevas scored 19 points and classmate Cris Rosario added 12 to lead Lakewood.

Manalapan 69, Manchester 56

Senior Aiden Sosinov poured in 31 points while hauling in 16 rebounds and the Braves (5-5) handled the Hawks (1-11) on the road. Junior Pat Hearn added 11 points, while classmates Dean Aviles and George Hardy each chipped in nine for Manalapan.

Aidan Lunn led Manchester with 21 points and 13 rebounds while fellow senior M.J. Goins added 14 and freshman Justin Roberts threw in 11 in the loss.
