The Scarlet Fliers (5-1) notched their fifth straight victory and gave the Titans (1-4) their fourth straight loss.

Junior quarterback Caleb Brown completed five of his 10 pass attempts for 87 yards and two touchdowns, both to senior wideout Will Holland for 55-yard and five-yard scores. On the ground, Brown led a solid rushing attack, including a 50-yard touchdown with his legs, finishing with 70 rushing yards. Holland also made two big plays on the ground, running for 41 yards on two carries.

On defense, junior safety Hassin McMillon took two interceptions back for touchdowns from 37 and 52 yards out.

Colts Neck 28, Freehold Boro 7

The Cougars (2-4) got back in the win column thanks to a strong rushing attack against the Colonials (1-5).

Senior running back Bryson Royal scored a trio of rushing touchdowns, while fellow senior tailback Joe Pignatelli added another score. Colts Neck took a 21-7 lead into halftime, and played solid defense the rest of the way.

No. 5 Manalapan 34, Brick 6

The Braves (5-1) pulled away from the Dragons (3-3) in the second half to win their fifth straight game. Junior quarterback Cameron Desfosse threw two touchdowns and rushed for a touchdown. Desfosse found junior wideout Anthony Relay and junior running back Nicky Palmieri on the passing strikes. Palmieri and senior wideout D.J. Corsaro each rushed for a touchdown.

Monmouth 21, Manchester 6

Senior running back Tyler Gustafson rushed for three touchdowns as the Falcons (4-2) topped the Hawks (0-6).

No. 4 Southern 35, Lacey 0

Pinelands 7, Long Branch 6

Junior defensive lineman Jimmy McCutcheon recovered a blocked punt in the end zone to lift the Wildcats (4-2) past the Green Wave (0-6). Junior quarterback Jamie Jenkins threw for over 100 yards and sophomore running back RJ Clark rushed for over 100 yards in the win.

Matawan 37, Raritan 14

The Huskies (4-2) notched their second straight win thanks to another efficient offensive attack against the Rockets (2-3).

Sophomore quarterback BlairCarter Gagneron completed nine of his 15 passes for 186 yards and a touchdown, also running for two scores and 30 yards with his legs. Sophomore wideout Cayson Williams caught two passes for 95 yards and a score, while senior wide receiver Welman Crooms caught four passes for 58 yards, also recording a rushing touchdown.

Senior running back Erik Martinez also scored on the ground, and ran for 61 yards on ten carries. Sophomore running back Sean Euell ran for 36 yards on two carries.

No. 6 Donovan Catholic 35, Toms River East 0

Freshman quarterback Chris McClaren threw two touchdown passes and junior running back Alex Staten rushed for two touchdowns as the Griffins (3-3) rolled in a win against the Raiders (3-3). McClaren found junior tight end Jason Madden on a 64 yard touchdown pass before finding wideout Justin Tierney on a 49 yard touchdown pass. Freshman running back Justin Roberts found the end zone on a 9 yard touchdown.

Freehold Township 41, Barnegat 13

Senior quarterback Johnathan Kokotis  threw for a single game school record six touchdown passes as the Patriots (3-3) bounced back from a three game losing streak to defeat the Bengals (3-3). Junior wideout Jake Schultzel caught three touchdowns, junior wideout Mikey Lorenzo added caught two touchdowns, and senior running back Jake Rattiner caught one touchdown. Senior defensive back Jumar Irvin recorded an interception and senior defensive lineman Dominick Fiore recorded three sacks in the victory.

No. 12 Red Bank 35, Ocean 0

Junior quarterback Brett Laude tossed three touchdown passes and rushed for another as the Bucs (4-1) defeated the Spartans (3-3) for their fourth straight victory. Laude found senior wideout Jahmir Lane-Bailey for two scores and senior wideout Ari Fraser for another. Fraser also rushed for a touchdown in the victory.

New Egypt 47, Lakewood 14

The Warriors (2-3) have now won two straight after starting 0-3, putting up points in bunches against the Piners (2-4).

Sophomore quarterback Thomas Marabuto threw two touchdown passes, one each to seniors Toby Chao and Clyde Ferris. Senior Eddie Novatkowski found the end zone for a touchdown twice, and four times for two-point conversions.

No. 1 Red Bank Catholic 24, St. John Vianney 14

Freshman running back Gabe Kemp ran for two touchdowns and freshman quarterback Rahmir Rivera threw a touchdown pass to sophomore wideout Jason Berecsky as the Caseys (6-0) held off a stingy effort from the Lancers (2-4) to remain unbeaten. Freshman kicker Simon Picinich also added a field goal in the win.

Senior running back Danny Breen rushed for a touchdown and senior quarterback Zack LaBarca found sophomore wideout Noah Fitzpatrick on a touchdown strike in the loss.

No. 7 Brick Memorial 55, No. 2 Holmdel 41

Senior quarterback Jason Lajara threw four touchdown passes and rushed for three touchdowns as the Mustangs (4-2) bounced back from a loss to stun the Hornets (3-2). Senior running back Nazeer Whittaker scored on a 17 yard touchdown run. Whittaker would also catch a 51 yard yard touchdown pass. Senior wideout Nyzier Matthews scored on an 8 yard touchdown reception. Junior tight end Joe Livio scored on a 17 yard touchdown reception. Junior wideout Shawn Fowler also hauled in a touchdown. Lajara scored on runs of 26, 2, and 7 yards in the second half.

Howell 17, Marlboro 0

Two touchdown passes from junior quarterback Connor Acker and a shutdown defensive performance helped make it two straight wins for the Rebels (3-3), taking down the Mustangs (2-4).

Acker found junior wide receiver Jackson Behn and senior wideout Jack Quinn for scores through the air, and Howell’s offense added a field goal from senior Aidan Lambiase. Defensively, junior defensive lineman Ivan Padilla wreaked havoc in Marlboro’s backfield with five-and-a-half sacks, while senior linebacker Josh Krutyansky added an interception in a stout performance.

Central 20, Middletown North 17

The Golden Eagles (5-1) won a nailbiter against the Lions (2-3), thanks to an all-three-phases game for junior wideout Zyshun Carroll.

Carroll caught a pass for a touchdown, intercepted a pass, and in the final stretch, set up Central’s offense late in the game with a long kickoff return to help come away victorious. Junior wide receiver CJ Yates also caught a touchdown pass from senior quarterback Jacob Halpin, as part of a big night throwing the football. Senior running back Elijah Reeder found the end zone on the ground.

The defense forced three turnovers, as Carroll’s interception was paired with another pick from junior Dom Prasad, and a fumble recovery from senior Tino Nastasi.

Middletown South 21, No. 10 Jackson 3

A strong run game helped the Eagles (1-4) get in the win column for the first time this season against the Jaguars (2-3).

Senior running back Logan Burbank scored two touchdowns – one rushing and one receiving – and ran for 52 yards, while also intercepting a pass on defense. Junior running back Justin Rosato also had a strong two-way game, running for 25 yards and a score, while notching an interception of his own.
