Shore Conference Girls Basketball Scoreboard Friday, Jan. 31

Class A North

No. 7 Ranney 70, Ocean 24

Three players scored double-digits to help Ranney remain undefeated in Class A North. Claire Doherty scored a team-high 14 points and Peyton Atnes added 11 points for the Panthers. Freshman Emma Burke scored a game-high 15 points for Ocean.

Shore Regional 53, Marlboro 41

Shore closed out the game by outscoring Marlboro 21-11 to win their 11th game of the season. Reese Fiore and Ava Coyle both scored team-highs 14 points and Kimi Sayson added 13 points for Shore. Freshman Mackenzie Klatsky scored a game-high 15 points for Marlboro.

 

Class A Coastal

No. 5 Red Bank Regional 53,  Middletown South 40

Junior Synai Blychanton knocked down four 3-pointers and finished with a game-high 25 points to help RBR win their 11th game of the season. Riley Joyce added 12 points for the Bucs. Caitlin Whyte scored a team-high 14 points for Middletown South.

 

Class B North

Freehold Township 64, Asbury Park 4

Senior Sophie Tonino scored a game-high 20 points and had 4 steals to lead Freehold Township to their 10th win of the season. Junior Taylor Graze added 11 points and grabbed 5 rebounds for the Patriots who remain undefeated in Class B North.

Freehold Boro 51, Long Branch 42

Trailing by two points going into the second quarter, Freehold Boro outscored Long Branch 19-6 in the second quarter and held on to win their 13th game of the season. Senior Christina Sikaras scored a game-high 26 points and Sayuri Penaranda cored 15 points and grabbed 18 rebounds for Freehold Boro.

Manalapan 52, Monmouth 25

Sophomore Brianna Libretti scored a game-high 22 points to lead Manalapan to their 8th win of the season. Libretti has scored 20 or more points in 3 out of her last 5 games for Manalapan.

 

Class B Coastal

Keansburg 42, Keyport 20

Leading by four points at halftime, Keansburg outscored Keyport 13-4 in the third quarter to win their 12th game of the season. Sophomore Gianna Bettinger scored a game-high 12 points and Gabriella Flanzbaum added 11 points for Keansburg.

Middletown North 54, Matawan 27

Middletown North came out of halftime and outscored Matawan 24-2 in the third quarter to win their 12th game of the season. Junior Danielle Gonzalez scored a game-high 14 points and Jayden Yerves added 11 points for the Lions.

Raritan 47,  Henry Hudson 29

Raritan held Henry Hudson to just two points in both the second and third quarters to win their 8th game of the season. Junior Brooke Shea went 10-for-11 at the free-throw line and finished with a a game-high 20 points and Angela Peduto added 14 points for the Rockets. Tiana Cere-Jenkins scored a team-high 10 points for Henry Hudson.

 

Class B South

Barnegat 63, Pinelands 19

Barnegat held Pinelands to just two points in the second half to win their 15th game of the season. Senior Riley Fitzpatrick scored a game-high 18 points and had 5 assists and Rachel Bonhard added 10 points and grabbed 8 rebounds for Barnegat.

 

Non-Divisional

Point Beach at Donovan Catholic, 5:30 p.m.

 

Non-Conference

Brick Township 41,  Hightstown 39

Holmdel 46, Somerville 31

Holmdel held Somerville to two points in the second quarter to take a 23-14 lead at halftime and built on that lead in the second half to win their 6th game of the season and snap a four game losing streak. Freshman Claire Gillespie scored a career-high 16 points for Holmdel.

No. 2 Red Bank Catholic 50, Gloucester Catholic 40

Leading by one point in the first quarter, RBC outscored Gloucester Catholic 16-7 in the second quarter to win their 16th game of the season. Senior Christina Liggio knocked down four 3-pointers to finish with a career-high 22 points for the Caseys.
