Blue Devil Holiday Tournament

Location: Shore Regional High School, Oceanport

 (7) Manalapan 56, (10) Monmouth 16

Senior Laila Hagan knocked down four 3-pointers to lead Manalapan into the second round of the Blue Devil Holiday Tournament. Sophomore Brianna Libretti added 12 points and Brianna Leone chipped in with 7 points. Manalapan will face St. Joseph Hill (NY) on 12/27.

(6) Shore Regional 53, (11) Long Branch 41

Shore Regional had three players score double-digits to lead them to a first round victory over Long Branch. Senior Reese Fiore scored a team-high 17 points and Kimi Sayson scored 15 points and had 6 out of the Blue Devil’s 16 steals. Leomary Diaz-Merino scored a game-high 29 points and grabbed 15 points for the Green Wave.

(5) Freehold Boro 63,  (12) Sayreville 24

Freehold Boro had three players reach double-digits in points and rebounds in their first round victory over Sayreville. Senior Sayuri Penaranda had a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds and Christina Sikaras scored a game-high 21 points for the Colonials. Sophomore Olivia Batchelor scored 13 points and had 8 steals and Jordyn Strong tied a team-high with 12 rebounds.

(3) Neptune 66, (14) Jackson Liberty 18

Neptune exploded to a 34-0 lead at the end of the 1st quarter and never looked back. Senior Christa Ramos led the Fliers with a team-high 11 points while Freshman London Carey added 10 points and Sophomore GaNiyla Barnes chipped in 8 points and 7 rebounds. The Lions were led by Junior Sophia Porter who finished with a game-high 13 points in the loss.

(8) Raritan 48, (9) Ocean 23

Raritan raced past Ocean behind a balanced scoring effort and stingy defense. Senior Angela Peduto led the Rockets with 11 points while Junior Brooke Shea added 10 points and Junior Megan Cordeiro chipped in 9 points in the victory.

 

Shore Games

Location: The Fort, Oceanport

Germantown Academy (PA) 48, No. 7 Ranney 38

Trailing 43-17 entering the 4th quarter Ranney went on a 21-5 run in the 4th quarter, but that was not enough to beat Germantown Academy in a non-conference game. Senior Haley Poser led Ranney with 20 points and Ashley Kreiger scored 13 points and grabbed 8 rebounds.

Union City 46, Holmdel 43

Holmdel saw a 6 point lead at the end of the 3rd quarter evaporate against Union City. The Soaring Eagles were led by Senior Jaida Guerra who finished with a game-high 24 points. Senior Mackenzie Teevan recorded a 16 points and 13 rebound double-double in the loss for the Hornets.

Saddle River Day 52, No. 9 Rumson-Fair Haven 50

Rumson Fair-Haven’s 4th quarter rally fell just short against North Jersey power Saddle River Day. The Bulldogs trailed by 10 points at the end of the 3rd quarter before storming back into the game. Junior Erin Reid recorded a 15 point and 14 rebound double-double while Sophomore Grace Smith also added 15 points in the loss for the Bulldogs.

Neumann Goretti (PA) 46, No. 5 Manasquan 43

Manasquan led by 2 points heading into the 4th quarter before losing narrowly to Neumann Goretti (PA). Jordyn Hollawell scored a team-high 14 points for the Warriors in the loss.

 

Score at the Shore

At Southern Regional High School

(6) Mainland 63,  (3) Southern 49

Mainland had three players score in double-digits to win their first round game in the Score at the Shore. Southern was led by Casey Collins who finished with 14 points and Mackenzie Sininsky added 10 points and had 5 assists.

(2) Trinity Hall 66, (7) Woodbury 42

Trinity held Woodbury to three 1st quarter points to build a 12-3 lead and outscored them in every quarter to advance into the semifinal round of the Score at the Shore. Junior Grace Feeney scored a career-high 19 points for the Monarchs and freshman Alison McAndrews added 10 points.

 

Non-Divisional

Toms River North 52, Brick Memorial 44

Trailing 19-16 at half, the Mariners outscored the Mustangs 36-25 in the second half. Junior Cara Sarluca scored a career-high 23 points and Jordyn Brown added 11 points and 9 assists to lead Toms River North. Junior Liana Lapena knocked down four 3-pointers and a team-high 14 points for Brick Memorial.

Freehold Township 65, Donovan Catholic 32

The Patriots outscored Donovan 25-4 in the 2nd quarter to build a 38-10 lead to win the non-divisional game. Freehold Township had 12 different players score led by Gaby Parker with 13 points. Madison Sciarrino and Ava Giordano both scored 9 points and grabbed 5 rebounds for the Patriots. Senior Hannah Kelly led Donovan with 7 points.

Point Boro 57, Toms River South 37

Point Boro got off to a fast start, outscoring Toms River South 20-8 in the 1st quarter, and held on to win their first game of the season. The Panthers had nine different players score with seniors Vanessa Haas and Sarah Dahl both scoring 12 points. Sophomore Linsey Cribbin scored a career-high 18 points for TRS.

 

Non-Conference

Robbinsville 37, Matawan 16

Robbinsville ran away from Matawan behind a 19 point and 12 rebound double-double performance from Junior Ava Aldarelli.

Nottingham 31, New Egypt 28

Nottingham battled back to outscore New Egypt 12-6 in the 4th quarter to win the non-conference match-up. Juniors Madison Adam and Alana Burnett both led New Egypt with 9 points.

Marlboro 49, Allentown 26

Marlboro held Allentown to one point in the 3rd quarter and outscored 16-1 to win their first game of the season. Freshman Mackenzie Klatsky knocked down four 3-pointers to score a career-high 20 points for Marlboro and senior Brooke Gordon added 9 points.

Middletown North 43, Hightstown 31

The Lions led 39-22 after the 3rd quarter and hung on to win their first game of the season in the CVC vs the Shore Showcase. Laila Iasparro led Middletown North with 12 points and Karleigh Aber added 10 points.

Colts Neck 66,  West Windsor-Plainsboro North 20

Colts Neck got off to a hot start, outscoring West Windsor-Plainsboro North 43-10 in the first half. Freshman Julianna Jasina scored a game-high 17 points to lead Colts Neck and Julia Watkins added 10 points.

Koinonia 54, Keyport 28

Junior Skylar Breen posted a double-double for Keyport, 13 points and 12 rebounds in a non-conference loss. Junior Gia Aceta added 8 points for Keyport and grabbed 16 rebounds.
