War V. The Shore XI

Location: Mainland Regional High School, Linwood NJ

Ocean City 40, Southern Regional 34

Ocean City outscored Southern in the fourth quarter 12-4 in a comeback victory at the War v. The Shore XI. Three players scored double-digits for Ocean City in a balanced attack. Samantha Russell scored a game-high 13 points for Southern.

No. 6 Howell 50, Mainland 38

Senior Kiera McKown had one of the best games in her career, finishing with a triple-double. She scored 19 points, grabbed 15 rebounds and blocked 10 shots for the Rebels to help them win their 14th game of the season. Sophomore Kylee Beam scored a game-high 20 points for Howell.

Wildwood Catholic 78, Donovan Catholic 54

Leading by one point after the first quarter, Wildwood Catholic outscored Donovan 29-8 in the second quarter to win the non-conference game. Anais Friedman scored a team-high 14 points and had 6 assists for Donovan.

No. 5 Red Bank Regional 63, Egg Harbor 56

Red Bank Regional needed overtime to win a back and forth non-conference game against Egg Harbor. Junior Riley Wheeler knocked down three 3-pointers to score a game-high 20 points and dished out 8 assists for the Bucs. Caroline Polloway and Synai Blychanton both scored 14 points for RBR.

Manchester 44, Lower Township 15

Manchester’s defense held Lower Township to two points in the first and fourth quarters to win their 11th game of the season. Sophomore Madeline Nolan scored a game-high 18 points and had 7 steals and Jade Andrews added 6 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for Manchester.

Colts Neck vs Holy Spirit, 3 p.m.

Lacey 56, Cedar Creek 47

Lacey built a 15 point lead over the first three quarters to win their 11th game of the season. Brooklyn Bell and Reece Paget both scored 15 points to lead the Lions and Marissa Flores added 11 points.

No. 3 St. John Vianney 58, Middle Township 27

SJV jumped out to a 14-4 lead after the first quarter and put the game away in the third quarter by outscoring Middle Township 21-4 to win their 17th game of the season. Junior Taylor Sofilkanich scored a game-high 15 points and Madison Kocis added 11 points for SJV.

Toms River East 48,  Hammonton 34

Trailing by six points after the first quarter, the Raiders outscored Hammonton 16-7 in the second quarter to take a three point lead into halftime and continued to build on that to win their 13th game in a row. Sophomore Kacey Briles scored a team-high 12 points and Libby Dickman added 11 points for TRE.

No. 7 Ranney vs Our Lady Mercy, 6:30 p.m.

 

Non-Divisional

Keyport at Lakewood, 10 a.m.

Point Beach at Keansburg, 11:30 a.m.

No. 10 Point Boro 61, Jackson Memorial 52

Trailing 37-30 just past the midway point in the third quarter, Point Boro went on a 21-7 run to go up 51-44 and prevented Jackson Memorial from getting any closer to win their 16th game of the season. Senior Vanessa Haas scored a career-high 28 points for the Panthers. Senior Emily Marinelli, who finished with 13 points, knocked back-to-back 3-pointers in the 4th quarter to make a seven point game. Freshman Kayla Matos knocked down four 3-pointers to finish with a team-high 18 points for Jackson Memorial.

No. 9 Rumson-Fair Haven 61,  Shore Regional 38

Rumson closed out the game by outscoring Shore 20-9 in the fourth quarter to win their 9th game of the season and get back to .500. Junior Erin Reid scored a game-high 22 points and three other Bulldogs scored 9 points each. Senior Reese Fiore scored a team-high 15 points for Shore.

 

Non-Conference

Neptune 75, Allentown 32

Neptune jumped out to a 27-5 lead in the first quarter and did not look back to win their 7th game of the season. Freshman Tyeera Howard and Lana Ellington both scored a game-high 14 points for Neptune. Senior Christa Ramos added 12 points and had 7 steals in the victory.
