Non-Divisional

Pinelands 39, Jackson Liberty 25

Pinelands outscored Jackson Liberty 31-5 in the first half to win their second game of the season. Freshman Isabella Cooper scored a game-high 12 points and had 10 steals. Freshman Rory Krier added 7 points and had 9 steals in the game. Sophia Porter led Jackson Liberty with 11 points.

Keansburg 65, Asbury Park 3

Keansburg had three different players score double-digits led by Gabriella Flanzbaum with 17 points. Senior Lindsay Rivera scored 13 points and grabbed 7 rebounds and Princess Graves had a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.

Toms River South 51, Lakewood 10 

Sophomore Linsey Cribbin had a game-high 15 points and 3 of the teams 16 steals in the game. Freshman Haley Johnson scored 6 points and had a game-high 5 steals for TRS.

Long Branch 44,  Lacey 36

Senior Leomary Diaz-Merino scored a career-high 30 points to lead Long Branch to a season opener win. Merino also had six steals on the defensive end and Layla Brand added five steals for the Green Wave.

No. 5 Manasquan 70, No. 7 Ranney 58

Manasquan made 11 3-pointers, four in the 1st quarter to open with a 20-8 lead and held off a 3rd quarter run to defeat Ranney in a non-divisional game. Manasquan wins their second straight game against a top ten team to open the season.

Manasquan had five players finish with career highs for points scored. Senior Shea Donnelly made five of the Warriors 3-pointers to finish with a career-high 22 points and Jordyn Hollawell went 6 for 6 from the foul line to finish with a career-high 19 points. Senior Shannon Heine made three 3-pointers to finish with 11 points and both Shannon Looney and Calista Vowteras both scored 8 points. Vowteras scored four straight points to build the Warriors lead back to double-digits.

Ranney was led by senior Haley Poser who finished with a game-high 27 points and freshman Lucy Eibeler knocked down five 3-pointers to finish with a career-high 17 points.

Toms River North 48, Ocean 26

Junior Cara Sarluca scored a team-high 18 points to lead the Mariners to a victory in their season opener. Senior Angelina DeCesare scored 7 points and had 3 steals and Mary Bozicev had 8 out of the Mariners 20 steals. Freshman Emma Burke scored a career-high 18 points to lead Ocean.

Manchester 50,  Middletown North 48

Manchester outscored Middletown North 8-6 in overtime to bounce back from their opening day defeat. Freshman Jesse Sarna scored a career-high 22 points and had 4 steals in the game. Sophomore Madeline Nolan scored 16 points and had 4 steals in the game and Marisiya Goins had 7 of the Hawks 19 steals. Junior Danielle Gonzalez scored a team-high 13 points and Kaelyn Gibson added 11 points for Middletown North.

Wall 47, Raritan 21

Wall outscored Raritan 26-3 in the 3rd quarter to bounce back from an opening day defeat and win their first game of the season. Senior Erynn Richey knocked down four 3-pointers and finished with a career-high 20 points.

No. 4 Red Bank Regional 59, Freehold Township 43

Junior Synai Blychanton scored a career-high 32 points to lead RBR to their second win of the season. Blychanton shot 6 for 6 from the foul line and had 4 steals in the game. Junior Riley Joyce had a complete game with 5 points, 9 rebounds and 7 steals for the Bucs.

No. 6 Trinity Hall 43, No. 9 Rumson-Fair Haven 31

Barnegat 66, Brick Memorial 40

Senior Emma Thornton starts the season where she left off last season with another double-double, 20 points and 20 rebounds, to lead Barnegat to a victory in their season opener. Barnegat out scored the Mustangs 24-8 in the 2nd quarter and 20-8 in the 3rd quarter in the victory. Senior Zemirah Enalls posted a double-double, 18 points and 16 rebounds in her debut for the Bengals. Junior Liana Lapena scored a team-high 20 points for Brick Memorial.

Colts Neck 53,  Central Regional 30

Youth was served for Colts Neck in their season opener. Freshman Emily Donahue knocked down seven 3-pointers in route to a 21 point, 6 rebound, and 6 steal performance in her first high school game. Fellow Freshman Julianna Jasina added 15 points to lead Colts Neck to their first win of the season. Senior Katie Dichter had 7 steals and 5 assists to lead the Cougars on both sides of the floor. Senior Vita Kelyman scored a team-high 12 points for Central and Emma Christensen added 10 points.

Non-Conference

No. 8 Howell 48, Monroe 22

Howell held Monroe to nine second half points and outscored them 19-5 in the 3rd quarter to win their season opener. Senior Kiera McKown scored a game-high 17 points and sophomore Kylee Beam added 14 points for the Rebels.

New Egypt 48, Academy Charter 17

Junior Madison Adam scored a game-high 19 points to lead New Egypt to their first win as a team in the Shore Conference. New Egypt had eight different players score in the victory.
