Shore Conference Girls Lacrosse Coach of the Year: Amy O’Keefe, Rumson-Fair Haven
No stranger to postseason accolades, Rumson Fair-Haven Head Coach Amy O’Keefe has been named the 2025 Shore Sports Insider Girls Lacrosse Coach of the Year. O’Keefe led the Bulldogs to a 19-4 overall record (5-1 divisional), an American Division co-championship, a Shore Conference Tournament Championship (11th in the past 12 seasons the SCT has been held), a South Jersey Group 1 sectional title, and the overall Group 1 State Championship.
O’Keefe has had a remarkable impact on the Rumson-Fair Haven lacrosse program since she was hired in 2004. O’Keefe has amassed an impressive 369-83-2 record as the head coach for the Bulldogs. Under O’Keefe’s leadership, the Bulldogs have won 9 sectional titles (2010, 2011, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2021, 2023, and 2025) and 4 state championships (2016 and 2021 as a Group 2 school, 2023 and 2025 as a Group 1 school). She holds the record for most consecutive wins against Shore Conference teams in any sport with 127.
“Each senior class has paved the way for the younger girls,” said O’Keefe. “Leading by example, they set the foundation of how we do things as a program. This years senior class are all going on to play at the next level. It is exciting for me because I get to keep an eye on them as they go along.”
O’Keefe has sent numerous players on to play at the collegiate level, including current senior and Bulldogs’ all-time leading scorer Rachel James (Loyola Maryland) and former Bulldog Megan Douty (class of 2011) who went on to have a stellar career at the University of Maryland, and is a member of Team USA. “It’s really hard to believe how fast the time has flown by in my career”
