Nondivisional

No. 2 Middletown South 1, Rumson-Fair Haven 0 

Rutgers commit Bea Tinoco scored her first goal of the season in the first half and Middletown South (1-0) was able to shut down Rumson (0-2) to win their first game of the season. Tinoco only needs four more goals to become the all-time leading goal scorer at Middletown South. Sophomore Julianna Fiore started the season just like she played last season, making six saves and posting the shutout.

Jackson 3, No. 10 Freehold Township 2

Tied 1-1 at halftime, Senior Alexa Berkley scored two second half goals to give Jackson (1-0) a 3-1 lead. The Jaguars were able to hold on to beat Freehold Township (0-1-1) 3-2. Ella Cooke continues where she left off from the state tournament last season, scoring a goal in the first half and assisting one of Berkley’s goals. Freshman Morgan Notaro scored both goals for Freehold Township, giving her three in her first two games.

Monmouth 11, Long Branch 6

Colts Neck 2, Notre Dame 1

Trailing 1-0 at halftime, Colts Neck scored two second half goals to win their first game of the season on the road. Senior Charli Pagano and Junior Olivia Brown both scored for the Cougars in the non-conference match-up.
