A pair of second half goals lifted the Lions (1-0) past the Mariners (1-1) in their first game of the season. Senior midfielder Samantha O’Connor scored the first goal off a pass from freshman Chacity Rotondella at the 48:30 mark. Rotonella then scored her first career goal less than two minutes later off a pass from senior Olivia Miller. Senior goalie Ava Schmidt recorded 9 saves in the shutout.
Middletown North 6, Point Beach 0
The Lions (1-0) raced past the Garnet Gulls (0-1) behind six goals from five different players. Junior Sofia Chaknis scored a game-high two goals. Freshman Peyton Kulka scored her first career goal and tallied two assists. Freshman Charlie Brink also registered her first career goal along with an assist. Seniors Ava Coffey and Ayva Reid each added a goal. Junior Ava Cordoma and sophomore Maddy Szlepcsik both tallied an assist. Junior goalie Natalie Morford recorded 3 saves in the win while sophomore goalie Emilia Miller also recorded 3 saves.
Manchester 4, New Egypt 0
A hat trick from junior Madeline Nolan propelled the Hawks (2-0) past the Warriors (0-1). Nolan’s hat trick was the second of her career with her first coming as a sophomore. Junior Shae O’Neil scored the final goal of the day off of a rebound on a Nolan shot attempt.
Freehold Boro 2, Brick 1
The Colonials (1-1) rallied from a one goal deficit at halftime to defeat the Dragons (0-2) and earn their first win of the season. Brick sophomore Kennedy Lipford scored the first goal off an assist from sophomore Olivia Dolan. Freehold Boro struck back on freshman Aubrey O’Connor’s first career goal off a pass from sophomore Alison Espinoza. Espinoza would then convert the game winner off a a pass from junior Gabriella Baralus. Junior goalie Makayla Koltunicki recorded one save in the win for the Colonials.
Holmdel 3, Donovan Catholic 0
The Hornets (1-0) earned an opening day victory over the Griffins (0-1) behind a balanced offensive attack and stellar defense. Juniors Ava Bielan and Season Yan as well as freshman Shayla Shah each scored a goal. Sophomore forward Joey Colantoni registered 2 assists. Sophomore Aylen Peters also tallied an assist. Senior goalie Gabriella Samaan saved 1 shot in the shutout.
Monmouth 2, Pinelands 0
The Falcons (1-1) bounced back from an opening day defeat to topple the Wildcats (0-2). Junior Angelise Marmolejas and sophomore Julianna Emerson each scored a goal in the victory. Senior Rebecca Nemeth and sophomore Ava Ciccone each tallied an assist. Junior goalie Victoria Santos saved 3 shots in the shutout.

Senior Sophia Koepping and junior Megan Farrell each scored 2 goals to lead the Crimson Knights (1-0) to a lopsided victory over the Purple Roses (0-2) on opening day. Freshman Nora Farrell added a goal and an assist while freshman Gemma Brett scored a goal in their respective debuts. Junior Bridget Petillo registered 2 assists. Juniors Ashlyn Holobinko and Kendall Rice as well as sophomore Mya Murano each added an assist. Senior goalie Madalyn Peterson recorded a save in the shutout.

A 51st minute goal from senior Jordyn Hollawell off an assist from junior Ella O’Reilly broke a tie game and lifted the Warriors (1-0) to an opening day win over the Mustangs (0-1). Sophomore goalie Madeline Petrulla recorded 3 saves in the shutout.

The top ranked Braves (1-0) earned an opening night victory over the Lancers (0-1) behind three goals from three different players. Senior midfielder Guilianna Naletilic scored the first goal on a free kick. Senior Lyla Ottenheimer scored the second goal. Junior Kayla Sasso scored the final goal in the win.
