Class A South
Central Regional 10, No. 8 Jackson Memorial 3
Leading 3-2 going into the bottom of the 4th, Central scored five runs to build their lead to improve to 2-1. Kayla Rasmussen went 3-for-3 with two doubles and three RBIs and Sianna Valverde went 2-for-3 with two doubles and four RBIs to lead Central at the plate. Isabella Flora only allowed one earned run on the mound for the Golden Eagles.
Nina Striano went 2-for-3 and Dominique Lopez went 1-for-3 with a double and run scored for the Jaguars. Freshman Mia Ingenito struck out 11 batters in the loss.
No. 2 Donovan Catholic 12, Toms River East 0
Donovan;s remain hot, scoring 12 runs on 11 hits to improve to 3-0 on the season. Oliva Kurth went 2-for-3 with a home run, double, and three runs scored and Isabella Cino hit a home run and had two RBIs for the Griffins. Dani Rodriguez struck out four batters to get the win on the mound.
Class B South
Pinelands 5, Manasquan 2
Pinelands scored four runs in the top of the 1st inning and held on to improve to 3-0 on the season. Eilanna Meola struck out 8 batters in the victory. Jozlyn Peterson went 1-for-2 with two runs scored at the plate for Pinelands.
Danni Forrester went 1-for-2 with a double and runs cored and Delia Gilmore doubled in a run for Manasquan.
Wall 17, Toms River North 4
Wall jumped all over TRN, scoring in every inning to win their first game of the season. Emily Gill went 4-for-5 with a home run and four RBIs and Mackenzie Williams went 2-for-5 with a home run and four RBIs to lead the Knights at the plate. Gill also struck out 7 batters to get the win on the mound.
Skylar Minniti went 3-for-3 with two doubles and a RBI for TRN.
New Egypt 7, Howell 6
Leading 7-3 in the 7th inning, New Egypt was able to hold off Howell’s rally to win 7-6 and improve to 1-1 on the season. Olivia Stillwell went 1-for-4 with a double and three RBIs and Megan Miller drew two walks and scored two runs for New Egypt. Jackie Bowen earned the win for New Egypt.
Emily Richards went 3-for-4 with a double and RBI and Madisyn Zito went 2-for-4 with three RBIs for Howell.
Class C South
Brick Memorial 6, Point Beach 2
After scoring one run in the 1st and 2nd innings, Brick Memorial added three runs in the top of the 5th to win their first game of the season. Sophomore Avery Nalducci did not give up an earned run and struck out 16 batters for the victory. Patricia Williams went 1-for-4 with two runs scored and a RBI and Nalducci doubled in a run for the Mustangs.
Barnegat 4, Lacey 0 (8 Inning)
Sophomore Gianna Gomez set Barnegat’s single-game strikeout record with 21, beating her personal best of 18 that she set on opening day. Gomez started the 8th inning rally that got Barnegat the win. After a Gomez single, Freshman Brooke Rizzo hit a RBI single to drive in pinch runner Emily Sisom. Senior Ava Leach put down a two-strike bunt that scored Jadeyn Bodziak, who walked earlier. After an error on that play, Rizzo scored as well as Leach who made it all the way around the bases to give Barnegat the 4-0 win.
Toms River South 18, Manchester 1
Toms River South’s bats were on fire right from the start against division rival Manchester. The Indians put up 8 runs in the first inning and 6 more in the third inning and had a total of 17 hits in the game. Kassidy Colangelo went 3-for-4 with a 3-run home run and drove in 5 RBIs in the game for TRS. Addison Tupper went 2-for-2 with three runs scored and Sophia Colon added two hits and two RBIs for the Indians. Charlotte Supino struck out 5 batters on the mound to earn the victory.
Non-Divisional
Ocean Township at Freehold Boro, 3:45 p.m.
No. 5 Middletown North 2, No. 6 Point Boro 1
Madilynn Boyce’s dominance over the Shore Conference continues, striking out 19 batters and only allowing one hit in a battle of top ten teams. Hailey Keiser went 2-for-4 with a RBI and Gianna Arciprete drove in the other run for Middletown North.
Ashley Palmieri hit a home run in the top of the 6th inning, Point Boro’s only hit in the game.
Monmouth 22, Rumson-Fair Haven 0
Freshman Samantha Mahoney pitched a no-hitter and struck out five batters to earn her second straight victory. Emma Riccardi hit a home run and drove in six RBIs and Olivia Davidson also went yard for Monmouth Regional.
