Class A South

No. 6 Point Boro 17, Central 3

The Panther’s bats exploded for 17 runs to win their second game of the season. Cassidy Supplee went 3-for-3 with a home run and five RBIs to lead Point Boro at the plate. Dakota Palmieri added four RBIs on three hits and struck out 7 batters on the mound to earn the victory.

Isabella Flora went 3-for-3 with a RBI for Central.

No. 8 Jackson Memorial 4, Toms River East 2

Trailing 2-1 in the bottom of the 5th inning, the Jaguars scored three runs to rebound from yesterday’s defeat. Victoria Marconi went 1-for-2 with a double and RBI and Mia Ingenito went 3-for-3 with a run scored for Jackson Memorial. Ingenito also struck out six batters on the mound in her first career starter for the Jaguars.

Addison Gallagher went 2-for-3 and Kylie Paladino went 1-for-3 with a RBI for Toms River East in their first game of the season.

No. 2 Donovan Catholic 2, No. 9 Southern 0

Donovan Catholic (1-0) held on to defeat Southern (1-2) in a battle of ranked teams. Sophomore pitcher Gylian Hixenbaugh earned the win in 4 innings of action on the mound giving up 3 hits and 1 walk. Junior Dani Rodriguez and Senior Sophia Senger helped ensure the shutout in relief. Senior Christina Ginex went 1-for-2 with a double and a run while Sophomore Isabella Cino walked and scored the other run in the win for the Griffins.

 

Class B South

Manasquan 4, Wall 3

Trailing 3-1 in the bottom of the 5th inning, Manasquan rallied to score three runs to win their home opener. Senior Brooke Loughlin connected on a home run and had two RBIs and Delia Gilmore went 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBIs for the Warriors. Julia Carson earned the victory on the mound and Lindsay Fuller struck out six batters for Manasquan.

Senior Emily Gill struck out 15 batters for Wall in her first start of the season and Addison Lawrence went 2-for-4 at the plate for the Knights.

Pinelands 6, New Egypt 4

Pinelands trailing 4-3 going into the bottom of the 6th inning, responded to New Egypt’s two runs in the top of the 6th inning with 3 in the bottom to win their second game of the season. Jozlyn Peterson went 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs and Audra Daniel went 1-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs to lead Pinelands at the plate. Eilanna Meola struck out five batters to earn the victory on the mound.

Junior Katelyn Thomas went 1-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs for New Egypt.

 

Class C South

Barnegat 7, Toms River South 1

Barnegat scored three runs in the top of the 1st inning and put the game away with one run in each of the 5th, 6th and 7th innings to win their second game of the year. Sophomore Gianna Gomez went 1-for-3 with a home run and Jadeyn Bodziak went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs for Barnegat. Gomez also struck out 12 batters to win her second game of the year.

Sophomore Samantha DiNicola went 1-for-2 with a RBI double for Toms River South.

Point Beach at Lacey, 4 p.m.

Manchester 5, Brick Memorial 4

Trailing 4-2 in the bottom of the 7th inning, Manchester scored three runs for a walk-off victory in their home opener. Sophomore Kassandra O’Neill struck out four batters to earn the victory for the Hawks. Briana Leon went 1-for-3 with a double and RBI and Kayla Meyer added a RBI single for Manchester.

Sophomore Avery Nalducci struck out 12 batters for Brick Memorial. Senior Giselle Lizardi went 3-for-4 with two doubles and two runs scored for the Mustangs.
