Shore Conference Softball Scoreboard Wednesday, April 9

 

Class A South

No. 9 Southern 13, Toms River East 3

Southern jumped out to score five runs in the bottom of the 1st inning and added three more in both the 2nd and 3rd innings to improve to 3-3 on the season. Emily Zellman went 3-for-3 with a home run and three runs scored and Abigail Krill went 3-for-3 with a double and five RBIs to lead Southern. Emily Evans struck out five batters to earn the win and hit two doubles at the plate.

Addison Gallagher went 2-for-2 with a run scored for TRE.

No. 5 Point Boro 1, Jackson Memorial 0

Cassidy Supplee drove in Jadyn Clayton in the top of the 6th inning to improve to 5-1 on the season. Dakota Palmieri struck out 14 batters in the shutout victory.

No. 2 Donovan Catholic 13, Central 5

Sophia Senger went 2-for-3 with a double with three runs batted in and Jaelynn Nunez went 3-for-4 with a double and three runs batted in to lead Donovan in the Class A South game. Senger also picked up the win, striking out one batter over two innings and Gylian Hixenbaugh struck out six batters for the Griffins.

Sianna Valverde singled and scored two runs for Central.

 

Class B South

Howell 10, Manasquan 6

Howell sealed their second win of the season after scoring three runs in the top of the 7th inning to win 10-6. The Rebels hit three home runs with Keira Murphy going 2-for-4 with three RBIs, Madiysn Zito going 2-for-4 with two RBIs and Emily Richards goin 2-for-4 with one RBI. Zito struck out 7 batters to earn the win on the mound.

Danni Forrester went 2-for4 with two triples and a run scored and Delia Gilmore went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs for Manasquan. Lindsay Fuller struck out eight batters on the mound for the Warriors.

No. 10 Pinelands 8, Wall 7

Pinelands built an 8-3 lead in the 6th inning and held on to improve to 6-0 on the season. Hanna Theuret went 2-for-4 with a RBI and Elianna Meola went 1-for-3 with two runs scored for Pinelands. Meola also struck out three batters to earn the win.

Emily Gill went 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs and Addison Lawrence went 1-for-2 with two RBIs for Wall.

Toms River North at New Egypt, 4 p.m.

 

Class C North

St. Rose at Manalapan, 4 p.m.

 

Class C South

Brick Memorial 14, Lacey 4

Brick Memorial rallied from an early 3-2 deficit with 7 runs in the 3rd inning and 5 runs in the 4th inning to pull away from Lacey. Sophomore Carly Hobbs went 3 for 4 with 2 RBI’s while senior Giselle Lizardi went 2 for 3 with 2 RBI’s in the win. Sophomore Avery Nalducci was 1 for 3 with 2 RBI’s. Sophomore Avery Nalducci earned the win with 4 runs allowed and 4 hits allowed.

Barnegat 14, Manchester 2

Barnegat scored six runs in both the 1st and 2nd innings to rebound from yesterday’s shutout and improve to 5-3 on the season. Gianna Gomez struck out 10 batters and did not allow an earned run in the victory. Gomez also went 3-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs and Brianna Dato went 4-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs. Freshman Brooke Rizzo drove in four runs, going 4-for-4 with a triple and double.

Toms River South 11, Point Beach 1

TRS responded to Point Beach’s lone run by scoring four runs in the bottom of the 1st and did not look back to win their fourth game of the season. Abby Wilber went 2-for-4 with a home run, double and two runs scored and Candice Peck went 3-for-3 with two doubles and three RBIs for TRS. Charlotte Supino struck out two batters to earn the win.

 

Coastal

Brick 13, Keyport 3

Tied 1-1 going into the bottom of the 2nd inning, Brick scored seven runs and ended the game with two runs in the bottom of the 6th to improve to 2-3 on the season. Sicilia Booker struck out 14 batters and only allowed one earned run for the Dragons. Adriana Buonacore went 4-for-4 with a triple and three runs scored and Jordan Mulhearn went 3-for-4 with a double and two runs scored for Brick Township.

Nicolette Sickles struck out seven batters for Keyport.

Neptune 16, Lakewood 0

Neptune jumped all over Lakewood with 10 runs in the top of the 1st inning to improve to 2-3 on the season. Gianna Massimino drove in seven runs for Neptune.

Red Bank at Trinity Hall, 3:45 p.m.

 

Nondivisional

Freehold Boro 17, Long Branch 1

Freehold Boro scored seven runs in both the top of the 1st and top of 3rd innings to win their first game of the season. Angelina Ciesnicki went 3-for-3 with three runs scored and four RBIs and Katherine Martin went 1-for3 with a double and three RBIs for the Colonials. Alexa Baio struck out three batters to earn the win for Freehold Boro.
