SSI 2025 Softball All-Shore First Team

With the 2025 school year coming to an end, SSI has put together their first All-Shore teams for softball. It was not an easy decision to select who made these teams and many players who deserve to be recognized were not, but it was a great season in the competitive Shore Conference.

2nd and 3rd Teams

 

1st Team All-Shore

 

Pitchers:

Madilynn Boyce, Sr., Middletown North

121.2 IP, 11 Wins, 2.13 ERA, 237 K, 13.64 K/7

Boyce became the 26th player in the history of New Jersey to reach the 1,000 strikeout milestone. The Seton Hall commit ends her career with 1,050 strikeouts. Boyce helped keep the Lions in every game and 4 out of her 11 wins this season were by one run. She had 15 or more strikeouts in 8 of her games this season.

 

Lily Hagan, Sr., Red Bank Catholic

Hagan has been causing problems for opposing batters all four years at RBC. One of her best performances came against St. John Vianney in the semifinal round of the Shore Conference Tournament. She held the defending champions to one hit in a 1-0 victory. The Notre Dame commit struck out 9 batters in the SCT final to help the Caseys win their first title since 2010.

.333 BA, 14 RBIs, 5 Runs, 7 2B, 2 3B, 1 HR, .536 SLG

McDougall dominated batters once again, finishing in the top five in all pitching categories. For the second straight year she finished with an era under 1 and finished tied for first with 18 wins. McDougall, who is committed to Monmouth, had 14 games with double-digit strikeouts and had 12 shutouts for SJV. 

 

Angela Sasso, Jr., Colts Neck

.427 BA, 15 RBIs, 5 Runs, 9 2B, 1 3B, 2 HR, .653 SLG

Sasso was not only one of the best pitchers in the Shore Conference this season, she was also one of the best hitting pitchers this year. On the mound she had seven games with double-digit strikeouts with her season high coming against Mount St. Dominics. She struck out 15 batters against MSD, who finished No. 1 in New Jersey, in a 6-5 victory for Colts Neck. At the plate she was able to improve on her average and home runs from last year. Her biggest home run came against Marlboro in the SCT semifinal round to help Colts Neck win 5-2.

 

Riley Smith, So., Middletown South

.329 BA, 17 RBIs, 9 Runs, 3 2B, 2 HR, .439 SLG

After introducing herself to the Shore Conference with an impressive freshman season, Smith was able to put up better numbers her sophomore year. Besides increasing her strikeout total in less innings pitched, she was able to reduce her walks from 52 last year to only 22 this season. Smith had 12 games with over 10 strikeouts and had 17 against Raritan to help Middletown South win Class B North. 

 

Catcher:

 

Jaelynn Nunez, Jr., Donovan Catholic

.479 BA, 33 RBIs, 9 Runs, 11 2B, 9 HR, 1.000 SLG

Nunez made a big impact in her first season at Donovan, making the Griffins one of the most dangerous line-ups in the Shore Conference. Transferring from Toms River East, Nunez improved on her batting average and power numbers from last year. She went from hitting one home run last year to nine this year with her biggest home run coming against St. John Vianney in the South Jersey Non-Public A title game. Nunez drove in three runs in the game to help Donovan win their first title since 2022. 

 

Infielders:

 

Gabriella Bryce, Jr., Colts Neck

.432 BA, 16 RBIs, 29 Runs, 7 2B, 2 3B, 7 HR, 4 SB, .795 SLG

Bryce, who was named Most Improved Player of the Year, made big strides in improving her batting average and power numbers this season. She went from hitting .346 last season to .432 this season. She also improved on her home run totals, going on one of the hottest streaks in the Shore Conference. Bryce, who is committed to USC Upstate, hit five home runs in five games. The first one during that streak was the game winner against Middletown North in the 8th inning to lead Colts Neck into the semifinal round of the SCT. She followed that with a home run in the semifinal round to help the Cougars advance into the SCT final. 

 

Christina Ginex, Sr., Donovan Catholic

.511 BA, 30 RBIs, 40 Runs, 11 2B, 1 3B, 5 HR, 7 SB, .822 SLG

Ginex has been one of the best hitters in the Shore Conference since her freshman year. The Seton Hall commit ends her career with 171 hits and 141 RBIs. Ginex finished in the top ten in the Shore Conference in batting average and runs scored. In the South Jersey Non-Public A championship game, Ginex went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs to help Donovan win their first title since 2022. 

 

Nicole Knox, Sr., Red Bank Catholic

.506 BA, 25 RBIs, 36 Runs, 13 2B, 1 3B, 6 HR, 9 SB, .924 SLG

Knox has been one of the best hitters in the Shore Conference since she arrived at RBC four years ago. The University of North Carolina commit had a .500 or higher batting average all four years and finished with at .543 for her career.  Knox is also one of the best fielding shortstops in the Shore Conference. In the SCT final she went 2-for-3 with two doubles, scored three times and drove in three runs to lead RBC to their first title since 2010.

 

Grace Lombardi, So., Red Bank Catholic

.518 BA, 26 RBIs, 22 Runs, 7 2B, 5 3B, 11 SB, .723 SLG

Lombardi took one of the biggest jumps of any player from her freshman to sophomore season. She brought her batting average up to .518 from .329 to finish 7th in the Shore Conference. She also showed her speed this season, finishing third in triples with 5.

 

Outfielders:

 

Angela Christopher, Sr., Shore

.530 BA, 36 RBIs, 40 Runs, 12 2B, 4 3B, 4 HR, 19 SB, SLG .916

Christopher had a dominant season at the plate this year for the Blue Devils. She finished top 10 in the Shore Conference in batting average, RBIs, Runs, Doubles, Triples and stolen bases. Christopher eclipsed the 100 hit mark and 100 RBI mark this season and led the Shore Conference in runs, coming up one short of 50.

 

Mia Favato, So., St. John Vianney

.425 BA, 22 RBIs, 21 Runs, 7 2B, 2 3B, 3 HR, 1 SB, .699 SLG

Favato took a step forward this season after a strong freshman season, showing improvement both at the plate and in the field. Transitioning to centerfield, she showed her defensive versatility while continuing to improve offensively. At the plate, she raised her batting average from .386 to .425. Favato also boosted her power numbers, increasing her totals in doubles, triples, and home runs compared to last year.

 

Isabella Maria, Jr., Donovan Catholic

.434 BA. 18 RBIs, 35 Runs, 8 2B, 3 3B, 3 HR, 15 SB, .667 SLG

Maria has been one of the best hitters in the Shore Conference since her freshman season. Not many batters reach the 100-hit milestone during their sophomore season, but that’s what Maria accomplished. She had her third straight season with over 40 hits for the Griffins and is one of the best defensive center fielders in the Shore. The Auburn commit made several highlight reel catches throughout the season. 

 

Flex:

 

Isabella Cino, So., Donovan Catholic

.457 BA, 34 RBIs, 35 Runs, 7 2B, 1 3B, 10 HR, 7 SB, .938 SLG

Cino showed the Shore Conference that her freshman numbers were no fluke. She improved on every single category at the plate including walks and stole bases. Cino finished tied for first in home runs and top ten in RBIs and runs scored. She is on pace to reach the 100-hit milestone during her junior year.

 

Megan Miller, Sr., New Egypt

 

.444 BA, 33 RBIs, 39 Runs, 8 2B, 1 3B, 10 HR, 5 SB, .951 SLG

 

Miller did not disappoint in New Egypt’s first year in the Shore Conference. She finished the season in the top ten in RBIs, runs scored and home runs in the conference. Committed to Merrimack, Miller was tied for first in home runs in the Shore Conference, hitting three more than in her junior season. Miller ended her career going 5-for-7 with 6 RBIs in the Central Jersey Group 1 tournament. 

 

Keira Murphy, Sr., Howell

 

.512 BA, 32 RBIs, 36 Runs, 12 2B, 3 3B, 7 HR, 12 SB, 1.000

Murphy saved her best season for last, finishing in the top ten in batting average, home runs, doubles, runs scored and fell one short in triples and RBIs in the Shore Conference. The Notre Dame commit improved her RBIs from 15 to 32, doubles 6 to 12, home runs 3 to 7 and stolen bases 0 to 12.
