Arnold has started every game since his freshman year at New Egypt and after two impressive seasons to start his high school basketball career, Arnold put his talents on display within the Shore Conference for the first time in 2024-25. In its first season in the Shore Conference, New Egypt went 12-13 and 5-5 in the Class B Central division, which included a win over the Shore’s most tradition-rich program. Arnold scored 16 points in his team’s 49-41 win over Neptune to mark the biggest win of the Warriors’ season. Overall, Arnold finished second in the Shore Conference in scoring, third in assists, 16th in rebounds, and shot 50 percent from the field and 38 percent from three-point range. The do-it-all junior also passed the 1,000-point threshold for his career and heads into his senior season with 1,127 points.

C.J. Karis, Sr., Guard, Holmdel

2024-25 Stats: 12.5 points, 3.8 assists, 42 3-pointers, 72 FT%

Holmdel entered this season needing to replace three top scorers from a team that won 21 games and reached the semifinals of both the Shore Conference Tournament and NJSIAA Central Jersey Group II playoffs. If there were questions about who would score for the Hornets, Karis answered them rather quickly. He scored 18 points in a win over a Wall team that went on to win 21 games and two games later, Karis pumped in a career-high 27 in a win over Holy Spirit in the first round of the Score at the Shore Holiday Tournament at Southern Regional. The senior guard had 18-point games against three teams that spent time in the Shore Sports Insider Top 10 — Rumson-Fair Haven, Red Bank Catholic and Ranney. He also scored 15 points in each of Holmdel’s two Shore Conference Tournament games and poured in 16 in a state tournament win over Point Boro. With Karis keying another balanced, cohesive Holmdel lineup, the Hornets went 17-9 and reached the Central Group II semifinals and the SCT quarterfinals for a second straight season.
