Shore Sports Insider Girls Basketball Week 4 Top 10 Rankings
1. St. John Vianney (9-2) Last Week: 1 – The Lancers lead the Shore Conference with nine wins and have won five straight games. SJV’s junior trio of Madison Kocis, Taylor Sofilkanich and Stella Lockhart are causing problems for opponents and each averaging over 11 points per game. The Lancers play three division games in Class A Coastal this week, hosting Holmdel on Tuesday and on the road against Middletown South on Thursday and No. 5 Red Bank Regional on Saturday. Saturday’s game is played at Central Regional High School in the Jimmy V Showcase event.

2. St. Rose (8-2) Last Week: 2 – St. Rose is currently on a five-game win streak, which includes two Class A Central victories. St. Rose defeated Neptune and No. 6 Howell to start off 2-0 in the division. On Saturday, Jada Lynch scored her 1,000th point in a victory against Bayonne. St. Rose plays one division game this week on the road at Wall on Thursday and Friday they host Immaculate Heart in a non-conference game.
3. Red Bank Catholic (6-4) Last Week: 3 – The Caseys ended their three-game losing streak with two dominant division wins against No. 4 Red Bank Regional and Middletown South. Junior Katie Liggio knocked down seven 3-pointers in those two games and averaged 14.5 points. RBC fell to the top team in New Jersey, Morris Catholic, on Sunday at the Hoop Group Boardwalk Showcase. RBC has two Class A Coastal games this week on the road. On Tuesday they travel to No. 9 Rumson and Thursday they travel to Holmdel.

4. Manasquan (8-2) Last Week: 5 – The Warriors picked up two division wins last week against Jackson Memorial and Neptune. Shea Donnelly scored a career-high 33 points against Neptune, knocking down seven 3-pointers. Manasquan won one of their biggest games of the season against Red Bank Regional, who was ranked No. 4 at the time. The Warriors defense came out strong in the second half, creating several turnovers. Manasquan plays two Class A Central games this week as they host Wall on Monday and travel to No. 6 Howell on Thursday.

5. Red Bank Regional (7-2) Last Week: 4 – After falling to No. 3 Red Bank Catholic early last week, the Bucs rebounded with a convincing win against Notre Dame in the Coaches vs Cancer. Junior Riley Joyce scored a career-high 19 points and was named MVP in the game. On Sunday RBR fell to Manasquan in the Hoop Group Boardwalk Showcase. RBR has a busy week with three Class A Coastal games. On Tuesday they host Middletown South and Thursday they are home to No. 9 Rumson. On Saturday they play No. 1 St. John Vianney at Central Regional High School in the Coaches vs. Cancer Event.
6. Howell (7-1) Last Week: 6 – Howell was handed their first loss of the season against No. 2 St. Rose last week. They were as close as five points in the 3rd quarter, but could not get any closer. Senior Kiera McKown and sophomore Kylee Beam are both averaging a double-double this season to lead the Rebels. Howell plays two Class A Central games this week, on the road against Neptune on Monday and host No. 4 Manasquan on Thursday. Saturday they host Central in a non-divisional game.
7. Ranney (5-5) Last Week: 10 – Ranney has won five straight games after losing their first five games to start the season. Three of the five wins for the Panthers have been against teams ranked in the top 10 of the Shore Conference. Ranney defeated No. 7 Trinity Hall to improve to 2-0 in Class A North and followed that with a win against No. 9 Point Boro in the Coaches vs. Cancer Showcase. Junior Ashley Kreiger has averaged 15.5 points per game during the win streak and Haley Poser is averaging just over 17 points per game. Ranney plays two Class A North games this week at home against Ocean on Tuesday and Marlboro on Friday.
8. Trinity Hall (8-3) Last Week: 7 – Trinity Hall lost to division rival Ranney last week to fall one spot in the rankings. The Monarchs rebounded with a win against Holmdel in the Coaches vs. Cancer and Cherokee in the Coaches Choice Challenge. Junior Grace Feeney continues her strong season, averaging 22.5 points in those two wins. Trinity Hall hosts Colts Neck on Tuesday and travels to Ocean on Friday in two Class A North games. Saturday, the Monarchs are on the road against Roselle Catholic in a non-conference game.
9. Rumson-Fair Haven (5-5) Last Week: 8 – After falling to top ranked SJV last week, Rumson rebounded with a division win against Holmdel. Four players scored in double-digits, with junior Erin Reid scoring a career-high 23 points. Rumson hosts No. 3 Red Bank Catholic on Tuesday and travels to No. 5 Red Bank Regional on Thursday in a rematch of the WOBM Christmas Classic final.

10. Barnegat (8-1) Last Week: Not Ranked – Barnegat rebounded from their first loss of the season with two division wins. After defeating Pinelands earlier in the week, the Bengals defeated Brick Township on Friday to get a leg up in Class B South. Barnegat beat Jackson Memorial in an instant classic at the Coaches vs. Cancer Showcase on Saturday. Senior Riley Fitzpatrick scored a team-high 17 points and was named MVP in the game. Barnegat hosts Cedar Creek on Tuesday in a non-conference game and play two non-divisional games on the road to end the week. On Thursday, they travel to Toms River South and Saturday they travel to Middletown North.
