SSI Girls Lacrosse Top 10 Rankings for May 13

 

1. Rumson-Fair Haven (10-4) Last Week: 1

The Bulldogs remain No. 1 this week after playing only one game, but it was a big one. Rumson defeated Pingry who is ranked No. 5 in the state according to NJ Advance Media. Mia Milkowski scored 5 points on 2 goals and 3 assists. Rachel James added 4 points on 3 goals and an assist. Goalie Sydney Kiernan stopped 10 shots in the win.

2. Trinity Hall (9-5) Last Week: 2

The Monarchs remain No. 2 this week after going 2-1.  Trinity Hall defeated Red Bank Catholic 12-1, lost to Moorestown who is ranked No. 4 in the state according to NJ Advance Media, and beat No. 9 Barnegat 11-5. Chiara Donohue led the offense for the Monarchs, scoring 10 goals and adding 5 assists. Virginia Avery led the team with 17 saves for the week.

3. Shore (12-4) Last Week: 3

The Blue Devils won their lone contest last week, defeating No. 10 Toms River East 12-7. Gabby O’Brien had a big game offensively, scoring 5 goals, while teammate Ava Matthews added 4 goals.  Goalie Sophia Merten recorded 6 saves in the win.

4. Southern (8-5) Last Week: 4

The Rams remain No. this week after splitting 4 games.  Southern defeated Barnegat 14-4 and Seneca 14-3, but dropped 2 out-of-conference games to Paul VI who is ranked No. 17 in the state according to NJ Advance Media and Holy Spirit. Delaney Falk had a monster week, scoring 17 goals and 5 assists. Meri Cassidy added 6 goals, as did Mackenzie Sininsky. Goalie Adyson Griffin stopped 39 shots in the 4 games.

5. Middletown South (9-5) Last Week: 5

The Eagles had only one game last week as they dropped a tough 8-7 decision to Old Bridge. Caroline Bedetti scored 4 goals in the loss, and Anna Stumberger and Abigail Gallagher both scored 1 goal. Goalie Anna Weise stopped 6 shots against Old Bridge.

6. Red Bank (8-4) Last Week: 6

The Bucs won their only contest last week, an 11-8 win over Old Bridge. Karlie Ruland exploded for 6 goals, Maddie Pierson added 3 goals, and Chloe Keating had one goal and 3 assists. Goalie Nora Tavares stopped 8 shots in the victory.

Upcoming games: 5/13 SCT 2nd Round vs Point Boro; 5/17 at Morristown

 

7. Manasquan (6-7) Last Week: 7

The Warriors hold strong in the top 10 after going 2-1 on the week. Manasquan defeated No. 8 Central and rival Wall, but lost to South Jersey power Haddonfield. Freshman Chloe Stevens scored 10 goals across the 3 games.

8. Central (10-5) Last Week: 8

The Golden Eagles went 1-0 on the week, defeating SJV 13-2. Ryann Dunn and Addison Frulio continue to get it done for Central as both scored 3 goals in the win.

9. Barnegat (10-4) Last Week: 9

The Bengals went 1-2 on the week, defeating Wall in the opening round of the SCT, but dropped 2 games, losing to No. 4 Southern 14-4, and No. 2 Trinity Hall 11-5. Ella Tortorici led the Bengals with 9 goals and Sadie Guiro added 4 goals.  Goalie Allie Soden stopped 29 shots, including 14 against Trinity Hall.

Upcoming games: 5/13 SCT Round 2 at Central; 5/16 at RBC; 5/19 vs Egg Harbor

 

10. Toms River East (9-5) Last Week: 10

The Raiders went 2-1 last week, losing to Shore 12-7, picking up a win vs Middletown North 15-1, and defeating Howell 15-10 in the opening round of the Shore Conference Tournament. Grace Crowley and Ciley Francis each scored 8 goals in the 3 games, while Allison Mann added 7 goals.  Goalies Angelina Murray and Gianna Addesso split duties for the week, with Murray stopping 12 shots and Addesso stopping 20.
