The Rams (17-9) fell to the Dragons (23-2) which concluded their season. Senior Emily Evans went 1 for 4 with a solo home run in the loss. Senior Kayla Riley was 2 for 4 with an RBI. Junior Emily Zellman finished 2 for 4 with an RBI and a run. Senior Madison Groschel-Klein was 1 for 4 with an RBI.
The Rams will lose several key seniors to graduation including Evans, Groschel-Klein, and Riley, but return a strong nucleus to build around including Zellman, Abigail Krill, and Isabella DeSanto.

(1) Donovan Catholic 5, (4) St. Thomas Aquinas 2
The Griffins (25-1) topped the Trojans (19-6) behind strong pitching and timely hitting to advance to the sectional finals. Donovan Catholic used 3 pitchers and they combined to allow just 4 hits, 3 walks, and 2 earned runs. Senior pitcher Sophia Senger struck out 3 batters and allowed 3 hits, 1 walk, and 2 earned runs in 2.1 innings as she earned the win. Junior pitcher Dani Rodriguez struck out 2 batters and allowed 1 hit and 2 walks in 3 innings of action in relief. Sophomore pitcher Gylian Hixenbaugh struck out 3 batters and allowed no base runners in 1.2 innings to earn the save as the closer. Sophomore Isabella Cino went 2 for 3 at the plate with a double, 2 RBIs, and a run. Senger was 1 for 3 at the plate with 2 RBIs. Senior Christina Ginex finished 1 for 3 with an RBI and a run.
Donovan Catholic will host third-seeded St. John Vianney in the sectional finals on Thursday. The two traditional powers have not played this season. The Griffins will seek to exact revenge after falling 5-2 in last year’s sectional final.
(3) St. John Vianney 17, (7) Notre Dame 0 (4 innings)
Junior Gabby Gonzalez and sophomore Brynn Utter combined for 10 RBIs as the Lancers (18-2) routed the Irish (13-10) to advance to the sectional finals for the third consecutive season. Gonzalez went 2 for 2 with a home run, a double, and 5 RBIs. Utter was 2 for 4 with a home run, 5 RBIs, and 2 runs. Senior Nicole Giglio finished 1 for 3 with a triple, 3 RBIs, and 2 runs. Junior pitcher Madison McDougall struck out 8 batters and allowed just 1 hit and 1 walk in the 4 inning win.
St. John Vianney will travel to top-seeded Donovan Catholic in the sectional finals on Thursday. The Lancers are seeking their 3rd straight sectional title.
