Ocean County Tournament Semifinals

(5) Pinelands 4, (1) Point Pleasant Boro 0

Senior pitcher Elianna Meola threw a 4 hit and 2 walk shutout with 6 strikeouts to propel Pinelands into the Ocean County Tournament Championship. Meola was also 3 for 4 at the plate with 1 RBI. Senior Hannah Theuret was 2 for 4 with 2 singles.

 

Monmouth County Tournament 1st Round

St. Rose at Allentown, 4:45 p.m.

 

Class A North

No. 4 Middletown North 2, No. 6 Colts Neck 0

Senior pitcher Madilynn Boyce earned a 2 hit, 2 walk shutout in a battle of ranked teams. Boyce struck out 12 batters to bring her career total up to 900. Boyce was also 1 for 1 at the plate with a single, 1 RBI, and 2 walks. Senior Adrianna Lisotto was 1 for 2 with a double and an RBI in addition to 2 walks.

 

No. 7 Marlboro 12, Freehold Township 0

Leading 1-0 after the third inning, Marlboro opened the game up with five runs in the 4th and sealed the game with six runs in the 6th to win their second game of the season. Emily Gaudio pitched five innings of no-hit ball and struck out four batters. Adison Ditillo went 3-for-3 with a double and three RBIs and Aimee Notaro had a triple and three RBIs for the Mustangs.

 

Class B North

Raritan at Holmdel, 10 a.m.

No. 8 Middletown South at Freehold Boro, 10 a.m.

Matawan 7, Monmouth Regional 3

 

Class C North

Manalapan 13, Rumson-Fair Haven 3

Leading 6-3 after five innings, Manalapan scored seven runs in the top of the 6th to improve to 5-1 on the season. Sophia Miranda only allowed one earned run and struck out six batters on the mound and went 2-for-4 with two RBIs at the plate for the Braves. Julianna Cherbini went 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs and Elissa Lierberman went 2-for-3 with two RBIs for Manalapan.

 

Keansburg at St. Rose, 3:45 p.m.

 

Class C South

Lacey 2, Point Pleasant Beach 0

Sophomore pitcher Bella Byk pitched a full game 2 hitter with 14 strikeouts and just 2 walks to lead Lacey past Point Beach. Senior Madison Feldman was 2 for 3 with a double and an RBI. Byk was 1 for 2 with an RBI at the plate. Senior Grace Laird went 1 for 3 and scored a run.

 

Coastal

Brick 16, Neptune 6

Brick defeated Neptune behind a 2 for 3 day with 3 RBI’s from sophomore Emily Figa. Junior Abbie Fischer hit a double with 2 RBI’s. The Dragons walked 11 times in the win.

 

Jackson Liberty 5, Trinity Hall 4

Jackson Liberty rallied from a 4-1 deficit with 2 runs in the 6th and 2 runs in the 7th to defeat Trinity Hall. Senior Jules Georgiano went 3 for 4 with a triple and 2 RBI’s. Junior Rebecca Galvin hit an RBI single. Sophomore Kaylee Cavallo went 2 for 3 and scored 2 runs. Freshman Madison Donnelly had an RBI.

 

Red Bank Regional 16, Keyport 1

Red Bank scored five runs in the bottom of the 1st and 4th innings and added six runs in the 3rd inning to improve to 2-2 on the season. Senior Camryn Calaizzo struck out five batters to earn her first win of the season. Lisbeth Vazquez-Denicia and Hannah Smolinski both went 3-for-4 with a double and three run scored for the Bucs.

 

Nondivisional

Barnegat 2, Jackson Memorial 1

Trailing 1-0 in the top of the 4th, Barnegat scored two runs and held on to improve to 6-3 on the season. Gianna Gomez did not allow an earned run and struck out 8 batters for Barnegat. Jadeyn Bodziak and Brooke Rizzo both went 1-for-3 with a run scored and Amilianna Roach had a RBI.

Brick Memorial 12, Ocean 3

Trailing 3-2 in the top of the 5th inning, Brick Memorial scored six runs and added more in the 6th and 7th to improve to 4-2 on the season. Avery Nalducci struck out 12 batters in the victory  and added two hits at the plate. Emma Naples went 4-for-5 with two runs scored and Maggie Leach went 2-for-4 with a triple and two runs scored.

Colleen Zdan went 2-for-3 with a triple and Cassandra Foley went 1-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs for Ocean.
