Shore Conference Tournament Quarterfinals

(2) St. John Vianney 10, (7) Middletown South 0 (5 innings)

Junior pitcher Madison McDougall struck out 11 batters and allowed just 1 hit and 1 hit batter in 5-innings as the Lancers (13-1) topped the Eagles (13-4) to advance to the semifinals. Junior Gabby Gonzalez went 1 for 2 with a home run, a walk, 2 RBIs, and 2 runs. Sophomore Mia Favato was 2 for 3 with a triple, 2 RBIs, and a run. Freshman Olivia Lombardi 2 for 3 with an RBI and a run.

(3) Red Bank Catholic 15, (6) Southern 3 (5 innings)

Senior SS Nicole Knox blasted 2 home runs, walked, and totaled 4 RBIs to lead the Caseys (17-3) past the Rams (11-7) into the semifinals. Junior C Jayden Kane smashed a 2-run home run and walked. Senior 1B Lily Hagan went 2 for 2 with 2 RBIs. Senior RF Brianna Santangelo was 2 for 3 with 2 RBIs.

(5) Colts Neck 2, (4) Middletown North 1 (8 innings)

Junior pitcher Angela Sasso struck out 7 batters and allowed 1 hit, 7 walks, and no earned runs as the Cougars (9-8) defeated the Lions (10-9) in a thriller. The Cougars tied the game in the 6th inning on an RBI double from senior Ellie Mager. They took the lead in the top of the 8th inning on a line drive home run to center field from junior Gabriella Bryce. A 1-2-3 final inning closed out the win for the Cougars.

(9) Marlboro 9, (1) Donovan Catholic 7 (10 Innings)

Sophomore CF Isabella Wuelfing went 3 for 6 including a home run, 2 RBIs, and 3 runs as the Mustangs (9-9) shocked the Griffins (20-1) by handing them their first loss and eliminating them from the Shore Conference Tournament. Senior LF Sarah Huang was 2 for 5 with a triple, a double, 3 RBIs, and a run. Sophomore RF Alyssa Abadiatokis was 3 for 5 with a double and 2 RBIs. Junior pitcher Emily Gaudio struck out 9 batters and allowed 9 hits, 3 walks, and 5 earned runs in 10 innings on the mound. Gaudio was 4 for 6 at the plate.

 

Class C North

Keansburg 12, Henry Hudson 7

Manalapan 5, Shore 4

Senior Mary Kovaleski and junior Isabel Caputo both hit a 2 run RBI single to lead the Braves (11-8) to a victory over the Blue Devils (13-7). Sophomore Alexa Shaffer hit an RBI single. Junior Kylie Courter went 2 for 3 and scored a run.

St. Rose 13, Rumson-Fair Haven 3

Junior pitcher Emily Torresdal struck out 8 batters and allowed 5 hits, 1 walk, and just 1 earned run as the Purple Roses (10-5, 6-4) topped the Bulldogs (5-12, 4-6). Junior Gianna Rivera went 2 for 4 with a double, 2 RBIs, and a run. Junior Bridget Taylor was 2 for 4 with 2 RBIs.

 

Class C South

Manchester 9, Point Beach 7

Sophomore Annabelle Gray went 3 for 5 with a triple and an RBI as the Hawks (4-10) defeated the Garnet Gulls (3-14). Freshman Riley Cribbin was 2 for 3 with a double, 2 walks, and 2 RBIs. Junior Gabriella Minneci was 3 for 5 with 2 RBIs. Senior Sophia Biondi went 2 for 4 with 2 RBIs.

Coastal

Red Bank at Neptune, 3:45 p.m.

Trinity Hall 26, Long Branch 2 (4 innings)

Sophomore C Ella Larkin went 3 for 3 with a double and 5 RBIs as the Monarchs (10-5) defeated the Green Wave (2-12).

Junior Katelyn Thomas went 3 for 3 with a home run, a triple, a double, 4 RBIs, and 2 runs to lead the Warriors (14-7) past the Flashes (4-9). Junior Olivia Stillwell was 2 for 3 with 2 RBIs and 3 runs. Senior Megan Miller finished 1 for 2 with a double, a walk, and 2 runs.
